It's 1951 and America is caught in the Korean War, but a world away in a small town called Three Rivers, Elizabeth Leroy (Amy Grabow, General Hospital) is caught in her own personal struggle. She longs to escape her small town life and set out in pursuit of a career but a twist of fate and the promise of true love forces her to stay. She meets the town's new handsome and devout minister with whom she quickly falls in love and plans to marry but when he decides to leave for Korea to do God's work, she is heartbroken. The events that follow alter Elizabeth's life forever and truly test not only her faith and inner strength but her resilience as well.

I bought this DVD because I had read the book by Jerry Jenkins and found it to be a very enjoyable love story without all the trash. I am so sick of profanity filled books and movies that leave nothing to the imagination. It was so refreshing to read this book that I wanted to see the movie and was so glad I found the DVD on eBay. The movie did not disappoint although it did deviate from the book somewhat. I would recommend this movie to anyone who likes to see a good, clean love story without all the sex and profanity thrown in that adds nothing to telling the story.

This movie is great. I agree that there were a few things- Such as her moving in with a man she wasnt getting married to, nor had intentions to. Right when i saw that i as saying out loud "Dont do that! Your still with Ben. Man this is an accident waiting to happen!" but I was not disappointed- didnt see the next thing coming, that's forsure. Thought it was going to be one of those "Dear John..." movies but it was Entirely not at all.
She stood by her faith in all things as she had promised God with Ben that she would. It's inspiring and very thoughtful. Would recommend it any day to all of my friends who seem to stray away from their own faith due to obstacles. A+ for Emotional involvement of the audience and A+ for the actors. A very well- done movie. I was happy to find this at such a low price on ebay compared to other online sites (i was going to buy it off of bible gateway, but thought "hmm... maybe ebay..." and sure enough I was led to a far better bargain.
God bless you guys! Hoped this helped!

My husband liked this movie very well. I thought it was good. It tells about a grandmother who attempts to tell her story to a granddaughter in hopes that she would learn from the grandmothers mistakes & experiences so that the granddaughter would not go off with a boyfriend who was not good for her. In the end the granddaughter starts out with him but then finds in just a little while that what her grandmother told her was true and so she comes back home.
