PLOT: 2 outcasts unite to plot a daring robbery. 1970s TACKY fun~
1974 ~ movies had to have 3 things~ trampy sexy girls, FAST cars and fights~~ this has all 3~ LIGHTFOOT (JEFF BRIGES) AND THUNDERBOLT (CLINT EASTOOD) steal 2 cars in a row and head WEST to the podunk town of WARSAW Montana~ 2 men from Thunderbolt's past ~ NASTY George Kennedy and his side kick /goon~ are staking him ~ for the LOOT in a past robbery. they realize the (hiding place for the loot) has long been torn down~ so they scheme for a new robbery~ this is where it picks up and gets fun~ they break in a a bank and blow up the vault and hault out the loot~meanwhile Lightfoot dressing up a a *sexy blond babe*~*to distract* the alarm company LOOSER who monitors it~ is beyond funny~ as they pull off the robbery~ George Kennedy double crosses them~but the cops get Kennedy~ as Thunderbolt and Lightfoot head out of town~ but they stumble acros the orig LOOT hiding place~ a fun ending to this typical 1970s movie~ the plot is very loose and at times goes now where~ but the EASTWOOD & BRIDGES charm keep us glued. Bridges steals the show from Eastwood at times~ this is VERY dated but a good watch ONCE~ and well worth the watch for the early Jeff Bridges in drag. Catherine Bach is in about 2 scenes as a sexy sluty *pick up* for Lightfoot ~~ and in all EASTWOOD movies the TAG line is ~ *redheads are unlucky* I GIVE IT 4 STARS FOR SILLY PLOT, DATED FUN AND 2 ACTORS KEEP US GLUED TO A LAZY SILLY PLOT.look for the UGLY (LOUD) tacky shirts so popular in 1974 along with a pair of tight leather pants Bridges wear to work~~so COOL in 1974~~~fun!~

I love this movie, it's classic Eastwood, along with an excellent performance from Bridges, and a great supporting cast (including a pre-Dukes Catherine Bach). I have been looking for this DVD for years, but for some reason MGM quit producing it.

Great DVD worked well and what a great movie. With Jeff Bridges getting an academy award this movie has regained some interest. I loved it.

One of the better Clint Eastwood films. Didn't get high reviews but in my estimation, it was very good. Jeff Bridges, Geoffrey Lewis and George Kennedy make this an entertaining and fairly intelligent film.
