Funniest Live action superhero show ever
Created: 05/07/10
This show is absolutley hilarious. Patrick Warburton does an excellent rendition of the nigh invulnerable hero. Why it only lasted 9 episodes is a complete mystery. Maybe it never found a target audience or maybe sponsors didn't like it. Regardless, it will be missed by any fan of the comic book. Two of the main characters were changed for some reason - but Captain Liberty and Batmanuel were very enjoyable and well-played by Liz Vassey & Nester Carbonell.
Kids might not enjoy this because there are some "adult situations" and there are very few supervillain fights. Adults might shy away due to the child-like nature of superhero shows.
If people give this show a chance they will find they enjoy it tremendously, even if they do find it difficult to relate to superpowered people and most of the cast running around in tights. But if anyone has ever wondered how someone in tights would handle the real world they'll find out by watching "The Tick". Also enjoyable are the monologues Warburton delivers throughout the series. The mostly clueless hero occasionally has flashes of inspiration that add a touch of wisdom in a comic way to an already hilarious 30 minutes of fun entertainment.

It was too bad we couldn't enjoy more of the series due to its unfair cancellation. Nevertheless we can enjoy the private lives and mishaps of these superheroes on this two DVD set. Patrick Warburton really is the tick and so are the rest of the cast. The acting is great and the situations might not be what it's expected from a regular comic book hero TV series, but that is the idea. You should expect to see comical situations that happen between missions, instead of the Tick battling foes.Nevertheless the situations are funny and well thought of, adding a different twist to the superhero scheme.

The Tick (live action) the entire series
Created: 08/03/08
If you like the Tick (cartoon or comic book), this live action series will not disappoint. More like the original comic rather than the cartoon, this series is aimed toward adults rather than kids. Just the sexual tension between Batmanuel and Captain Liberty alone, makes this not very appropriate for youngins. Patrick Warburton is the perfect actor to play the big blue arachnid of justice. David Burke does a fine job of side kicking to the Tick. Here is the skinny: if you are a real fan of the Tick, get this dvd set. Any card carrying M.O.A.V. agent should NOT be without this set in their personal arsenal of digital video goodies... SPOON!!!

If you never saw the 90s Tick cartoon then don't worry. The zaney off-the-wall super hero humor is here but with kind of a Seinfeld vibe to it. I'm not sure why this show didn't take off but I give serious props to anyone who names a main character "Bat-Manuel." Heck, I like any show where there is a villain known as Apocalypse Cow (Unfortunately off-screen only.). It's a fun show and frankly is a must for any super-hero fan. The Tick is ever-off hinged and feuds with a backed-up toilet and the legal system during the nine episodes which comprise this series. Yep, didn't even get a network commitment to 22 episodes. Regardless this is a great show and I highly recommend it. Heck a few friends laughed themselves silly over it.

The Tick Complete Series

Love this series, grew up with The Tick cartoon. This is a great addition to your DVD collection if you are familiar or not with the cartoon it is based off of. Watched the whole series within a few days at a friends house and was hooked. Very funny. The only bad part is that there never was a season two! Great one liners!
