Tiger Woods PGA Tour 10 (Xbox 360, 2009)

On the positive side, graphics are a big part of any golf game, and I think they did a super job. The natural elements look realistic -- the rippling of the water, the swaying of the treetops, the spray of rain off the spinning ball -- and add to the fun of playing the game.

Unfortunately, there are some major downsides to this game. The biggest downside is that you have to be a very, very, very good player to enjoy the game. They start you out as a hack golfer with little skills, but instead of playing other hack golfers with comparable skills, they compare you on the leader board with career professionals. After the first day of playing this game, I was so humiliated and frustrated that I almost threw the game away. Fortunately I kept going, and as my attributes (power, short game, accuracy, and putting) increased, only then did the game become fun.

The other big downside to this game is that when you finally build up your attributes and skills and get so good that you can pretty much put the ball anywhere you want, they've seemed to have built some trickery into the gaming engine that forces you to have a bad hole when you're playing at your best. You can be doing fantastic with a good lead above everyone else, and it looks like you've got the tournament win in the bag, then a mysterious counterwind catches your ball and drops it into a bunker, leaving you absolutely mystified. Or, you are lofting a ball into a crosswind, but the ball goes straight as if the wind suddenly died down.

A good example of this is the AT&T National Pro Am at Pebble Beach. If you play normally, you will lose balls in the ocean, guaranteed, because the game gives you ridiculously false readings on the wind gauge on some of the holes. The only way you'll win this tournament is by playing it through 17 holes, making notes along the way when and how to adjust for the false wind readings, quitting the tournament, and then playing it again.

I've never played a round of golf in my career without something mysteriously causing me to bogey or double-bogey on at least one hole, allowing the best golfers below me to put the heat on. Maybe the game does this to add spontaneity and realism, but it's aggravating.

Likewise, the gaming engine also seems to help you out at times. There have been a few shots where I know I didn't use quite the proper amount of speed on the left thumb stick, yet, the game granted me the percentage of power my shot needed.

PGA Tour 10 is addicting, which means it's good for weeks and weeks of fun. But have a Nerf air gun or something nearby that you can shoot at your XBox game console in frustration when you're creaming Tiger Woods, and your perfectly-lofted ball encounters an unforeseen headwind/crosswind, catches the beach, and Tiger takes the hole away from you.

although many have come to hate tiger on an off the course this titel by ea sports is just great. I ve purchased every year of this games franchise and will continue doing so. as a golfer i know how tough the game is and this game represents that well in its highest skill level. But for the beginners the lwoer skill levels are fun and easy to suceed at making this game good for all levels of skill and intereste in golf. The use of real equipment and 20+ real courses is excellent it lets you tee it up in palces taht are $500 plus per round courses that normal folk will never get a chance to see.

Very great game!! Best game of the series yet. The new putting control system is awesome! This is the most realistic game I have ever played. The new live weather is so realistic and makes the game even more challenging. This game is definetly worth the price. A must buy for golf fans, or even if your not familiar with golf, it is still a blast!

This game is Great for a casual golf gamer. It feels more realistic than the previous tiger woods games. The Putting system is great feature because it shows you how accurate and how powerful you hit the ball.Another Great feature of the Game is the challenge mode. This mode allow you recreate some of the most incredible shots in history. I decided to buy this game because i like to play golf. Its a great game for golf enthusiast and casual gamers who want to relax and play a nice round of golf.

I like the game very much. I think it could be more challenging. And I love the online feature that allows you to play people all over the world. I decided to buy this game because I have the 2009 version and hoped that this one would be just as good or better. I do not like the fact that you have to buy more courses from microsoft.
