Great Game for PSP
Created: 06/06/10
I have purchased all of the Tiger Woods games for PSP becuase unlike other sports, the courses change with each new golf game. I think this game was an excellent first attempt by EA Sports for the PSP. The loading between holes and shots is a little annoying and reminiscent of a PS One. However, the graphics are stunning and the gameplay is straightforward. I enjoy playing the skill-builder activities.

Good Game if you have the time...

The game is technical and fun. It is dificult to use the standard PSP nub so I bought the larger aftermarket stick, and it did help. Some games take a very long time to play (4 player Skins), but you can skip to the end of the computer turn quickly. The load times between shots, matches and well everything is horrific, but golf is a waiting game so just pretend you're watching it on TV.

Golf fun for PSP

I bought this game because I'm a fan of the Tiger Woods series. I wanted to see just how well the game was developed for the PSP. It didn't take long to see that Sony had fundamentally made an exact duplicate of the PS2 version, which I love. The game play flows and operates almost exactly the same, while the menu's and a few subtle things are different. Just like the PS2 version, you use the joystick to "swing" the club. Your character is fully customizable, and you have quite a few golf courses to choose from. All-in-all, I am very pleased with this game and would recommend it to anyone.
Pros:
Fully customizable characters, wide variety of golf courses, simple game play, great multiplayer features
Cons:
Load times are a bit long

Best of Both Worlds

I purchased Tiger Woods 2005 after becoming frustrated with 2006. I found the putting frenzies to be very difficult; 2005 solves that problem. I LOVE the fact the there is a grid on the green but they also tell you the distance to aim. I found this to be extremely useful to aid in putting on 2006.
I think that 2005 is the perfect meld of the best things about 2005 with the advance play of 2006. I love the Legend Challenges and tournament play.
Bototm line, if you find puting difficult at all, buy this game to really learn how to read the greens and sink more putts. Befroe buying this game, my putt average was about 1.8, now I'm at 1.2.
Once again, EA Sports hit this one right on the money.
