Tiger Woods PGA Tour 2005 (Sony PlayStation 2, 2004)

I bought this game beause I really liked the 2004 version, which I played for countless hours. Upon starting the 2005 version I immediately found things that didn't seems quite as good as it's predecessor. It's seems that load times are longer between holes, and nobody likes waiting for something to load. Some of the graphics really don't give you a 3D feel, notably some trees are very poorly rendered and the sky, at times, has an odd texture with what seems to be a short draw-distance (the clouds don't extend far enough to the horizon.) Lot's of the commentators saying have been copied from 2004 and they don't always agree with what happens on the screen. After hitting a nice shot your character may break into a dance which is accompanied by music, but in you click through the dance scene in order to get on with the game, the music will still be playing completely out of sequence with what's actually going on in the game at the moment.
Not everything is bad though. I am probably being a little harsh with the rating I gave this game, it's not terrible, just not as good as last years. If you have 2004 saved on your Memory Card and you load this game, it'll recognize that you've played this series before and help you out with extra money and better skills to start off with.
If you've played and liked 2004, there's no need to buy this game, unless you get a great deal on it. If you've never played this series before and like golf this isn't a terrible game, however I'd recommend 2004 over 2005. One note, the online feature of the 2004 version no longer works, haven't tried playing 2005 online yet.

This game is really awesome! It is incredibly designed, with sharp-looking courses, realistic effects, ways to modify that are beyond fantastic, and so much more, it's THE golf game to have. You can shop for awesome stuff, get better attributes than Tiger, play against the legends, win trophies, get fantastic animations, create your own course, and unlock so many golfers! 5 star game! This is a great game. It would be a perfect gift for a golf fan. It is so realistic. You can buy all different kind of clubs, balls, and improve your person. They also have a great feature that you can use to make an amazing put. It is called tiger vision and if you do it right you will make the put every time. The last thing is they have a great mode called battle golf. This is where you play the computer or a friend, and when you win the hole you can take a club from your opponents bag that he can not use.

Tiger Woods 2005 is one of the best TW games there are. Out of all of them it has to be my favorite one as in the game you are able to loft your ball. As well as have Tiger Vision. I would never get rid of this game its just too much fun. I have no dislikes about the game whatsoever it is great all the way around. I decided to buy it as my brothers version of 05 stopped working and I wanted the game to play because it is just that good!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I had played TW PGA Tour 02 before ordering 2005. In fact the seller had run out of 2005 and sent instead the 2006 version which was fine with me.

This game has great graphics and good controls, good courses and lots of them, and lots of different game play modes. It is very fun to play and rewarding. It takes a certain amount of intelligence to play it will and that intelligence builds with experience in the game.

The only thing I don't like about this game is that sometimes when you are chipping and putting the announcers make comments about how poor of a shot you made and they can be very rude and annoying. It doesn't happen every hole so it is only a temporary and occasional nuisance. For example, oftentimes I will be faced with a very difficult putt and they will say something like "Look McCord, that's an easy shot. Oh my, terrible effort there!", which is quite annoying when in fact you had a very hard shot and put forth quite a bit of effort. That's all for the gripes.

For PS2 this is a good game. I am sure the PS3 version will have better graphics, but the customizing your own character is fun and the graphics on the PS2 version are good.

I recommend that you buy this game if you ever want to play golf on the console.
