Product description

Synopsis
Artemis Fowl, teenage criminal prodigy and technological genius, has returned. Moldering away at an Irish boarding school, torturing the psychologists, Artemis is thrilled to find out that his father, who has been missing for over two years, might have been spirited away by the Russian mafia in the Arctic Circle. Tearing off to that cold continent with the ever faithful Butler at his side, Artemis is stopped by the fairy police, namely one Captain Holly Short, of the infamous LEPrecons. Forced into fighting with her, Commander Root, and foul-smelling Mulch against a smuggling ring, Artemis gets closer to finding his father than ever. The second book in the internationally best-selling ARTEMIS FOWL series.

In the sixth bestselling Artemis Fowl novel, the obnoxious boy wonder finds himself in the tightest spot ever. After a years-long absence, Artemis comes back from Limbo to find that his mother has been diagnosed with a lethal illness. Of course, the only way to save her comes from an extinct lemur that Artemis himself helped kill off. Now he must go back in time to save the lemur, but he runs into the most formidable enemy ever: his younger self. With the help of Holly Short, Artemis must outwit himself and make the impossible happen. Other titles by Eoin Colfer include THE SUPERNATURALIST and HALF MOON INVESTIGATIONS.

Publisher's Note
Artemis's mother has contracted a deadly disease--and the only cure lies in the brain fluid of  African lemurs. Unfortunately, Artemis himself was responsible for making the lemurs extinct five years ago. Now he must enlist the aid of his fairy friends to travel back in time and save the lemur. Not only that, but he must face his deadliest foe yet: his younger self.

When the only hope for his mother recovering from a deadly disease lies in the brain fluid of the African lemurs he made extinct five years ago, Artemis must turn to his fairy friends to get him back in time to undo the damage he did while avoiding danger at the hands of his deadly younger self in the process.

When the only way to save his mother's life lies with the lemurs he made extinct five years ago, Artemis turns to his fairy friends to take him back in time, where he tries to undo the damage while avoiding his dangerous younger self.

Industry Reviews
"Filled with puns, word plays, and inventive new concepts about the fairy realm, this mix of fantasy and science fiction will delight fans and make converts of new readers. An exhilarating Celtic caper that stands very nicely indeed on its own merits."

My thoughts on "The Time Paradox" by Eoin Colfer (2008)

Created: 03/11/08
This is another great work by Eoin Colfer. I was once again lead along the path of multiple deceptions by Artemis and his merry band friends. The story unfolds at a decent pace and through many turns of the time line we get a glimpse into Artemis's future or is it his past. Artemis learns that time travel has some strict rules, but Artemis was never one to be contained by rules, racing against time itself Artemis comes face to face with a foe whose cunning and metal prowess have but one equal…himself. Colfer presents a book that’s not just for kids but a work that can be enjoyed by all ages and provokes intellectual questions among readers of all ages.

I have read the previous books in the Artemis Fowl series and found them to be a delight to read. This latest in the series is no exception. Eoin Colfer does it again! Another Great read. At some points I was laughing so hard I cried.

My grandson loved it. Thought it was great fantasy/action thriller, and thhhis book was as good as the previous books in the series. If you're an Artemis Fowl fan you'll love it. You probably should read earlier books first since they do build on each other.

Time Paradox, Indeed!

Artemis Fowl is up to his old tricks and some new ones, too. See how Artemis has grown as a human being through his own eyes and he confronts his younger self.
