    Movie synopsis

Featuring spectacular special effects set amidst the backdrop of one of the most tragic events of the 20th century, James Cameron's award-winning TITANIC stands as one of the greatest Hollywood spectaculars of all time. Beginning with an undersea expedition in the 1990s, in which scuba divers are searching the sunken ship for lost relics, a painting of young Rose DeWitt Bukater (Kate Winslet) is found. This triggers a flashback to the young woman's story as it happened on the doomed Titanic. Rose is a daughter of privilege on her way to be married to an arrogant but wealthy young man (Billy Zane). Despairing, Rose finds herself falling in love with Jack Dawson (Leonardo DiCaprio), a carefree and poor young artist who is also aboard. When the great ship strikes an iceberg and begins to sink, Rose and Jack have only each other as their world falls apart around them.Director James Cameron spared no expense in bringing his simple yet powerful love story to life, building a 90% scale model of the ship, fussing over the tiniest details, and ultimately spending some $200 million dollars. A worldwide smash, TITANIC received fourteen Academy Award nominations and 11 wins, including Best Picture. Despite all the lavish sets and special effects, the film would be nothing without the emotional core provided by stars Winslet and DiCaprio, who give star making performances as the tragic young lovers.

    ONE MUST SEE SHIPWRECK!

    Created: 15/02/09
    Features Acotrs:Kate Winslet, Leonardo DiCaprio,Frances Fisher,Billy Zane,Kathy Bates, Jonathan Hyde,Victor Garber
    Running Time:194 Min.
    Rating:PG-13

This movie is about a romance between two young people from different backgrounds. In Rose (Kate Winslet, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind) and Jack (Leonardo DiCaprio, The Aviator), you had a romance that women could identify with, as there are obstacles thrown up to prevent true love for the couple. The most notable obstacle being class, as the early part of the century featured groups that were very structured by how much they made and what their standing in life was. In Rose's life, her mother Ruth (Frances Fisher, House of Sand and Fog) plays a huge part in it, and has virtually arranged a marriage to Cal (Billy Zane, The Phantom) that will put both women in the lap of luxury. Jack just has his sketch pad, and lives the bohemian lifestyle, enjoying every minute of it.
Then the ship hit an iceberg in the North Atlantic, sinking the unsinkable ship, resulting in a massive loss of life. And Cameron's depiction of the events that led to the final hours is both vivid and unsettling. The thing that stays in someone's mind is that when compared to the real-world events. It focuses more on a romance that may work on the screen, but the written word is as wooden as the life boats on the ship.

This is a must see movie, not only a part of history but also takes you back in time, and shows you how different things used to be.A great love story filled with laughter & tears!Would recommend to rent or buy!Hope this helps you decide. Thanks for reading! :)

    Titanic 3 disc DVD set

    Created: 16/10/09
The Titanic 3 disc DVD set finally contains the behind the scenes of how the movie Titanic was made by James Cameron. It's really detailed. In my opinion, they should have kept the deleted scenes in the final movie except for 2 of them. The 2 that they deleted that I agreed with deleting was the drowning of Cora, the little girl, with her parents, and the chase scene by Lovejoy, Cal's Valet, chasing Jack and Rose through the dining room trying to shoot them. What I disliked about this set or what they should have explained and included but DIDN'T was about how they made and re-made all of those lovely costumes! There were no closeups of the costumes and no insight into how they were made or what they did to restore the many DONATED ACTUAL gowns and outfits from the actual era in which the movie and event are set, 1912! This is still a great movie and the only other thing was I wish there had been a way to watch the movie and include the alternative ending and deleted scenes while watching it but this is not possible as they are on separate discs. This is why I rated this set as good rather than excellent. If it included information and closeups of the costumes I would have rated it excellent.

    Titanic dvd

I like movies that portrait a real human drama, one that can make you feel all your emotions by it's conclusion. This movie has it all. Love, hate, betrayal, greed, manipulation, devotion, joy, and sadness. After watching the movie, just hearing the music move's you back in time to the ship. The tragic story of Titanic couldn't be told better. If this tragity wasn't pieced together with it's story line, a person certinly couldn't watch it more than once. The reality of the Titanic sinking is a part of history everyone needs to hear. This movie brings it to life facts, and fiction. Guarentee to make u laugh and cry, great entertainment!

    Romantic Voyage

    Created: 13/10/06
This movie has action, romance, and intrigue. They are attempting to pull up the Titanic as the movie shifts back in time to share stories about the fatal voyage. They have beautiful scenes when Leo De Caprio and Kate Winslett cross the lines of class distinctions and fall in love. It is a must see movie.
