TiVo Series 2 TCD649080 (80 GB) Receiver

I love the freedom Tivo gives me and I can record shows I enjoy and watch when I want, skip the commercials and/or pause live TV. I've had cable DVR's and paid as much as $10 a month, at that price my Tivo will have paid for itself in 7 months. I got a great deal on ebay!

We are really enjoying our DVR. The only issue that we are having is that since all television has become digital, the DVR will only record one show at a time and you are forced to watch it while it's recording. The many positives outweigh this small inconvenience though. We have also purchased the TiVo wireless router, so we get our updates, can transfer shows to our computers and handheld devices and play online games on the TV. Overall, it was a great purchase with no regrets.

I bought it because the advertised price was reasonable. I wanted the HD, but not enough cash for now.
Not only is it reasonably priced, it is easy to set up and use.
The multi function remote lets one get rid of all the other devices.
We no longer have to decide which program to record if there are two on while we are at work. It will get them both with a few limitiations.
We will never want to watch TV any other way (other than HD if we can afford it in the future)

I bought the tivo series2 three weeks ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive tivo.I have a tivo recorder end cable. The tivo size is perfect for working in a web for donload my music end my video has a pretty good working evertime. My only complaint is that the menu system on the tivo video recorder perform a additional functions. the tivo recorder have simpler menus and get you to important features easily. I recommend the tivo recorder.

Ive heard of tivos since they came out but ive never seen one nor do i know 1 person who owns one. Ive always used Time Warners DVR. I bought this to attach to a slingbox so i can watch digital tv on my phone. The tivo is really slow when it comes to turning on, updating and responding to my remote. The picture is no more clear than the analog vcr my slingbox was attached to. Plus i learned you need to purchase a subscription, i was under the impression they had free basic service. Apparently they did away with that some time ago because too many people were using that instead of paying tivo money for premium subscriptions. Tivo is greed coupled with an inferior product. I will most likely list this back on ebay or craigs list.
