Game Special Features
  • Embody All Four Famous Turtles: Leonardo, Raphael, Donatello and Michelangelo are playable, each with unique acrobatic moves, weapons and combat skills, such as Michelangelo's fast nunchuk face slap and Raphael’s powerful Sai throw
  • Extends the TMNT Movie Experience: The video game uses the same dark and dangerous environments and same themes in the TMNT movie. Will the Turtles be able to unite against the odds or will sibling rivalries create an unstoppable rift between the brothers? Only the player's abilities can determine the outcome for the family
  • Intense Ninja Fighting: By harnessing the power of Ninjitsu, the four Turtles have become masters of combat. Leonardo shows a calm discipline when he faces his foes, attacking carefully and masterfully. Donatello's bow staff can be used to reach distant enemies and as a pivot for him to swing himself around the arena. Michelangelo is a fast, flamboyant, energetic fighter, good for quick slashes with nearby enemies but for powerful direct attacks nothing beats the intensity of Raphael's powerful Sai punches.
  • Unique Acrobatic Navigation: The Turtles jump from rooftop to rooftop, scale tall buildings, dive into sewers and race through every corner of the city to confront their enemies
  • Powerful Tag Team Moves: Together the Turtles can team up to reach locations unattainable alone, or use their unique individual abilities to find alternate routes and secret areas of New York City. By pairing up in combat, the Turtles can leverage their combined powers to create a multitude of devastating attacks to cripple the enemy
  • Diverse Enemies and Bosses: Characters from the movie and the original comic book series creep out of the shadows to face the Turtles. From the Purple Dragon Street Gang to the infamous Foot Clan, a new group of enemies lurks in the sewers. Find out what their plan is and how the Turtles can stop them

Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles (TMNT) gives players the chance to relive their nostalgia for the series. Going in, the game holds a lot of promise as it is developed by Ubisoft Montreal most notablely known for their Prince of Persia series. The prospect of a POP-esque game in a TMNT world is very tantalizing. Unfortunately the game does not live up to expectations.

TMNT is a third person action game that, like POP, gives players the ability of run along walls, do acrobatics, dodge traps and adds new abilities like call in your turtle brothers to pull team combos. Despite these features TMNT is no where close to the caliber POP Sands of time was. The blame can solely be put on a fact that it feels dumbed down to appeal to a very young crowd to coincide with the demographic targeted by the tie-in movie. What made POP great was (1) superb story (2) excellent game play elements (3) topnotch pacing. All these are missing from TMNT. The story is tied to the animated film and not explained as the game expects you to have seen the movie. Even if you have seen the movie it is not compelling. Despite borrowing elements from POP, the game feels too easy. There is no satisfaction from either completing environment puzzles or from the dumbed down repetitive combat that forces to you fight bland generic enemies. How can you have a TMNT game and not have hoards of boss to fight?

Graphically and audibly the feels like a budget title. One can clearly tell the game was developed for the PS2 and then ported to other platforms. Even worse, the graphics and sound are that of an average PS2 game.

In the end, TMNT is a budget title that should keep younger audiences mildly interested.

ok, at first i was a bit skeptical on buying TMNT for PS 2 because I saw the reviews on youtube before buying it. And most of the reviews and didnt say too much. And it seem the other adventure game for TMNT was better. however I am a huge TMNT fan - hents why I bought it.

Soon as I put it in the system - the graphics are amazing, the adventure game is amazing really cool stages. splinter talks to you through out the game to help you out.

Game looks really comical and eye catching - its easy to maneuver. All the weapends look so good when fighting - also you get power ups.

You swing, climb walls, your on roof tops - this game is a 5/5 hands down!!! work of art!
