TOCA Race Driver 3 (Sony PlayStation 2, 2006)

This game is so similar to GT4 so I'm just going to do a comparison. The driving in this game is better than GT4. Control feels more realistic and there is actual damage to cars inside and out. This game has online unlike GT4. The overall system is pretty similar, you have tons of cars and tracks to race on. Possibly too many styles - the go-karts and monster trucks seem out of place and somehow the scope of the game feels smaller than GT4. The visuals are close but not quite as good as GT4, especially if you factor in the 1080i of GT4. The menu system and gameplay layout are the one spot where GT4 really beats this game. If you haven't played either game I would recommend this one over GT4 because of the better driving and online play. If you have GT4, don't buy this game.

This is a GREAT racing game that has a very realistic feel and sound for all cars. It has an in car view that shows details of the car's interior. The skill level is adjustable, so it's great for beginners, but can be run by experts as well. The racing spectrum runs across many Styles. Racing types include Open Wheel, Rally, Touring Car, Stock car, and more. All types run from ameteur to pro level. If you're into racing at all, this is a must own. If you're NOT into racing, it's also a nice game, because it has a huge variety and can give the feel of owning many more titles.

In my opinion, Codemasters are the best developers when it comes to console racing games.

This is one of the best car simulator game. Ive tried Gran Turismo and some others for PS2, but none compares to this...crash damage,change settings, different scenarios,etc

My 10 year old thought the game was kind of boaring. He likes games like Driver 3, GripShift, anything with Racing. This did not hold his attention at all. It was cheap enough but did not go over well.

Great graphics, great physics. I'm not a fan of not being able to choose my vehicle as I progress through the game - one race will be cars, the next may be dune buggies or Semis - and I really miss the experience of buying cars and earning money that you find in games like Gran Turismo. This is a pretty good racing simulator, but in the end, it just made me want to play Gran Turismo 4 again, for the 4th time.
