This is a great GPS
Consumers Report was correct this is a great unit.
It has Voice Recognition
Blue Tooth
Nice Screen size 4.3"
My battery needs to be replaced I do not see any way it opens but when plugged in it works 100%
The Micro Card it accepts needs to be formated they say
I have had the voice turn by turn suddely turn off but it works.
It would be nice to have Lifetime Traffic include but the $10 per month subscrition I will try for a month to see if it is worth the money but I personally do not do 9 to 5 in traffic so I may not need it.
I highly reccomend this unit or the Garmin 885/785T.
I bought this one because it was less money but no traffic after 3-4 months .
I will get the 2011 Consumers report and see what units they reccomend.
I am not disappointed with this item and it is very valuable for me on the job.

I love it. It was listed as used on the website. When it arrived, much to my surprise, it looked spanking new. Not a scratch on it anywhere and it works perfectly. Haven't used but once. I had recently bought my wife a go730 off ebay and I was actually just playing around with my bidding and tried a new technique and it worked good for me this time. I really didn't need the gps but I am happy I got it. Now she has one in her vehicle and I have one in mine, we don't have to move everything from one to the other any more. I actually bought her one a year ago and we both got new Droid x's in early Dec 2010 and only had the gps and phones for a few days and got robbed in Macon Ga and lost phones and Her GPS. My GPS looks just like hers but Mine updates from through the cell towers just like a cell phone. Don't have to connect to the internet to receive updates. Have to buy that service but it sure is nice to have that convenience. Now I want one to use on my Goldwing motorcycle. lol I have bought quite a bit of stuff off Ebay in the last several years and I think I got taken advantage of twice. So I believe that is a pretty good record. One time I bought an OPC belt for my brother laser printer that was supposed to be new and when it arrived it looked dirtier than the one I removed. Called the folks and they just said something else was wrong with my printer and that the one they sent me WAS new. It was not. I bought a new one from Brother and fixed the printer. Lost that $300. The other time I bought some disc brake calipers for a motorcycle and when I got them they were frozen up worse than my own calipers. Lost that money too. That was when I was first starting out with Ebay and I have learned my way around a lots better. Ha. Nothing like experience. lol Oh, I bought my wifes GPS off Ebay too and It is just fine too. She loves it.
I got mine and hers for a lot less than buying brand new. Hers was a refurbed unit. Looked like new, was in the original box labeled as refurbed and all the books and papers were with it. If momma is happy I am happy. lol

I have had several GPS units and all though I have not had this Tom Tom 740 live but one week I can tell you it is by far and away the best GPS I have ever used. It is quick to calculate, easy to use, good graphics, LOUD SPEAKER, and easy to read. The voice recognition works perfectly. On a 1-10 scale I rate it a 10.

Garmin and others could take a lesson on how to make a GPS.

I was gifted a new TomTom Go 740 live for Christmas 2009. On a recent trip to Oregon from Texas it started to shut off for no apparent reason. Was told by TomTom support that since I did not have a receipt for the gifted unit that the warranty was only good from the date of manufacture. So I was SOL.

this unit is the best i have ever owned and i owned a few.this unit is live so when i select a route and there is a problem on the road ahead it will change the route for me.plus you can connect your cell for bluetooth and you can talk to it asking for the weather or select a route.can"t come up with any cons yet. plus i love tomtom better than the others.
