Movie synopsis

Led by the mysterious Captain Jack Harkness (John Barrowman), the fresh-faced group includes compassionate cop Gwen Cooper (Eve Myles), crack engineer Suzie Costello (Indira Varma), arrogant medic Owen Harper (Burn Gorman), computer expert Toshiko Sato (Naoko Mori), and jack-of-all-trades Ianto Jones (Gareth David Lloyd). Together, they face unbelievable challenges as they put themselves in harm's way to protect the human race from danger. ) Just like with Season 1, I was forced to watch Torchwood on Netflix with my best friend, but by the time we were nearing the end of Season 2 I was anxious to find out what happens in Season 3, also known as Torchwood: Children of Earth.! In most cases I am not a fan of spin-off shows, or sequels, etc. but Torchwood is the exception. I really enjoyed Season 2 of Torchwood because of some of the recurring characters seen in Doctor Who, more specifically, Martha Jones. I felt like her role in Torchwood was redeemed and much more appreciated than it was in Doctor Who. There is also another episode where each character, including Jack's backstories are highlighted and it's really special to see. One thing I forgot to mention for Season 1 as well, are the Torchwood: Declassified and outtake scenes! Hilarious!

When I buy thing I want it complete, not 1 or 2 shows at a time,
but I want the full Season in 1 box.

The second season had a better over-arching storyline that the first, if only because it now had a better idea of what it wanted to be when it grew up. :)
We learn more about where Jack came from and made him the man the Doctor had first met. Gwen is more assured of her place in the team. Ianto is allowed to show more, if still reserved personality (he's allowed to have a sense of humor!). And best of all, we learn how the original four came to work for Torchwood, before PC Cooper discovered their existence.

I love this show and the stories and characters. It one of those shows i can watch over and over and notice something new every time and enjoy it even more the next time. Science Fiction at it's very best and I am very glad i was able to find it on dvd.

) I never would have guessed that they'd be able to outdo season one, but I was proven wrong. Now that we know the characters and the whole atmospere of Torchwood, it's just gotten better and better. There's still that dark edge and adult situations, but there's also a break from that with comedic turns. Capt. Jack and his crew keep you wanting more.
