Unlike the sleek urban contemporary sound of acts like Destiny's Child, Total was driven by classic funk grooves and sassy attitude. The singers, Kima, Keisha, and Pam, each have their own distinctive style, and that variety adds a pleasing twist to TOTAL. While the album isn't consistent throughout, it does have highlights, with "No One Else" and "Can't You See" (which features Biggie), among them. Funky, slinky, and sensual, TOTAL is a solid R&B album that deserves more attention than it's received since its release.

Editorial Reviews
...Total's self-titled disc overcomes the questionable vocal talents of Kima, Keisha and Pam with super-slick production and catchy hooks...
Vibe (19960501)

...Brimming with irresistibly funky loops and gritty grooves, the album is a pleasure from start to finish...

I purchase the Total CD. Because i loved all the music. I was really impressed with how good of shape the CD was in, however upon listening the song I really wanted "Kissing You" had a skip in it. Factoring the age of the CD which I believe was released in 1996, I still feel it was a good purchase.
