Touched by an Angel - The Complete Second Season (DVD, 2005, 6-Disc Set)

There are few wholesome TV series in the marketplace today, so I was very pleased to see CBS releasing the "Touched by an Angel" series. This series carried on for nine years and is a quality show the entire family can watch. Some may recoil at the premise of this show thinking that the producers are trying to shove religion down people's throats. In fact, there is no particular denominational or sectarian message. The show simply puts forward a premise that God in fact is alive and is involved in human lives through the employment of His angels as they go about on earth to tell the message that "God loves you and cares for you".
The show often graphically illustrates the free will of each human and the consequences that result from the actions of free human will. Often it is these consequences of people's own actions that they mistake for the non-existence of God, or that God is trying to punish them, or simply does not care about them. The angels are there to help people understand that God is involved and that He will intervene if they will simply let go and trust God. The angels are never judgmental, but speak the truth with frankness and boldness causing people to face their issues.
The show is also interesting in that the angels themselves sometimes do not understand what God is up to. But, they demonstrate their own faith in completing their assignments regardless of how rough it gets on them through the rejection of their human wards. The show illustrates that God is interested in all His creatures, not just man, but also angels and animals.
I have now purchased Season 3, vol.1&2 and Season 4, vol.1. I will attempt to collect all seasons as they are released. This is excellent programming you will want to watch again and again.

I love this show, it is very uplifting and it also has inspired me to look at people, situations and life in a better way. I have watched the show once many years ago when it first came out then lost touch with it till I noticed it had reruns on TV. Than I found out I can own the seasons as they come out. Well then I thought of what a great way to pass on a sense of knowledge to my children and grandchildren. Each episode has something in it to pertain to something that has happened in many peoples lives. So I am going to watch them then pack them in a box so when I pass on. The children and grandkids will see how I viewed life and would like them also do. They can see what inspired me each time I would watch these shows. It also is a good way to clean out the eyes, ( tears after each show for me). There are three people I looked up to for the longest time and would of liked to be if I could, one was Mother Theresa, second Princess Diana, but most of all I wanted to be Monica. I would of been happy going around being an angel like her and helping people. In real life I can and sometimes am without knowing it by just being kind, Thanks to this show I have learned how to be.
I think every family should sit down and watch these shows, talk about them and carry them with in their hearts and minds when they deal with people on an everyday basis.

Touched by an Angel is an excellent way to see life in a different way. It answeres questions like "why would God do this to me?" or "Why would God let something like THIS happen?" I highly recommend this series to anyone who is not sure about God, or his role in your life or for confirmation for those who know the power that God has and what he can do.

Always loved the show. It is no longer on TV, even as a rerun series. Guess shows showing Gods goodness and mercy is no longer available on public TV channels.
