Movie synopsis
In this dazzling sequel to the 1995 blockbuster, Andy heads off to summer camp, leaving the toys behind to fend for themselves. In much the same way Buzz discovered he is a mass-produced product in the first installment, Woody discovers that he is a valuable collectible spawned by a popular 1950s kiddie-puppet TV show, "Woody's Roundup Gang," when he is kidnapped by an evil toy collector, Al McWhiggin. Through Al, who plans to sell him to a Japanese toy museum, Woody is reunited with the toy versions of his TV cohorts--plucky cowgirl Jessie (Cusack), prospector Stinky Pete (Grammer), and trusty horse Bullseye. Woody must choose between seeing Andy grow up and forsake him and living a sterile but eternal life behind glass being admired--but not played with. Meanwhile, the rest of the original toy troupe undergoes a thrilling crosstown adventure to locate their kidnapped friend and restore him his rightful owner. Extremely entertaining, surprisingly touching, endlessly thrilling eye candy for anyone of any age. Golden Globe Winner: Best Motion Picture--Musical or Comedy. Back when this movie came out in theaters, I went to see this movie with my family and we loved it. The animation & objects were accurate, the story is written well and the voices are done very well.
Woody tries to save his friend Wheezy from a yard sale and a toy collector Al steals Woody, his friends Buzz Lightyear, Rex, Slinky, Ham and Mrs. Potato Head were off to a toy store "Al's Toy Barn" to save Woody. Woody meets 3 new friends Jesse, Bullseye and Stinky Pete (The Prospector) who are from an old tv show "Woody's Roundup," Woody founds out he was a famous toy back in the 50's.
I bought this on DVD, because I had a copy of this on VHS and it was gone missing. Overall this is one of the best movies in my list. I recommend this DVD to your DVD collection.

Film fans know the history of "Toy Story 2". Originally it was to be a straight to video release BUT the film was so good they released it in theaters.
They did the right thing.
A great film, memorable characters. They introduced Jessie & Bullseye in this film. I am NOT a big Jessie fan. Thought the character was just too loud. Buzz Lightyear is my favorite. The flaw, still NOT a Randy Newman fan.
We ALL know the reason for this March 2010 DVD release was to promote the June 2010 release of "Toy Story 3".
For fans this DVD release is a let down. YOU WILL DO MUCH BETTER WITH THE 2005 2 DISC DVD PACKAGE. GO FIND 1 OF THOSE, THIS EDITION IF YOU WANT EXTRAS IS A MAJOR DISAPPOINTMENT.
Only 1 disc compared to the 2005 2 disc edition.
A bunch of extras-ONLY FEW MENTIONED ON OUTSIDE DVD PACKAGE. Most of them for kids. I am a fan of the film, I want making of specials, actor information, etc. Do NOT look for stuff like that here. Go to the 2005 DVD 2 disc package.

My son loves the first Toy Story so I bought this one for a change and to give my first copy as a break. This one was even better, and he wants to watch it over and over. Great movie!
