The Most Underrated Game Of The Year?

There are two angles in the game to play; the Autobot perspective, and the Decepticon perspective. The brilliant part is that they aren't just mirror-images of each other, or the one side in reverse. A big thanks and kudos to the team who made these two very distinct storylines. As you progress along the stories you earn bonus features, which are largely just images from the movie or the old cartoons. The images are not in any kind of order either, so of 160+ "shots" maybe you've unlocked numbers 25, 79, and 152 and have to scan the entire list, one at a time, to see them. If you've been fortunate enough to discover a couple of consecutive images, you can't go to the next one without first backing out of the one previous; not the best implementation. But the mere idea alone of unlocking movies, images and game skins is brilliant enough to have turned this 2 week gaming adventure into a solid month of pure enjoyment! My personal game says 97% complete and I'm determined to find those last remaining items!
CONCLUDING THOUGHTS
Transformers: The Game is like the Prom Queen from the nerd's perspective. She's really very beautiful and engaging, but once you have her for a night, you'll realize you want more. And of course once you get your hands on her you can't share with friends (1 player only), and although the magic may wear off after a month, its a good idea to keep her because afterall, she IS the Prom Queen... at least until the next one (Transformers Game) comes along. You get the two storylines, the bonus features, two bonus levels, huge environments, a driving, rumbling, and flying experience, what more could you ask for aside from two player options!? So how is it than only after a week of playing I was only able to clear 25% of the game? Easy, I simply LOVED roaming around and observing every interesting detail of the environment… it’s that good to enjoy! A lot of people worked on this game as is apparent via the instruction manual being about 60% credits. And boy does it show with the quality of this game let alone it's control system. With that large of a crew, it's no question how this game didn't go the way of the "Superman" or "Fantastic Four" games. It is easily one of the most underrated games of 2007!
PROS:
Lots of good looking eye candy
Two seperate storylines
Quality voice acting!
CONS:
Simple fighting mechanics, and A/I
Strictly linear storylines
Only one player
FINAL SCORE: 9.0 out of 10 – 90%

Over all, this game is pretty good. You can play two different story lines, the autobots or the decepticons. Though the the two story lines don't intertwine together, but they both end up having a good old fashion fight between Optimus vs Megatron.
To me the Autobot missions were easier to do than the Decepticon missions. One thing that frustrated me in this game was the controls for the decepticons in disguise mode. Due to most of the decepticons were aviation vehicles, its harder to fly than drive.
I thought the graphics look great and each robot you fight had a different characteristics whether it was you fighting the main opponent or you fighting some other useless robot. Oh, if you like to blow up stuff, this is your game.
I bought this game because I am a long time transformers fan and I liked the movie. So, I decided to play the game as they were in the movie. The story modes don't quite match up with the movie, but hey, the game can't be exactly like the movie.

The game play is too simple; no complexity to it. It is still a very cool game though in the sense that you can transform and use the different robots from the movie. I bought it because i am a huge Transformers fan and wanted to experience the control of the characters.

The game is not that bad. I would not go so far as to call it a must have but if you like the movie then its worth your time. It very slightly follows the movie but it has a completely destructible environment and decent driving controls. It requires little skill as it is mostly just button mashing. the conversion process from robot to vehicle is pretty cool and fluid but very little challenge factor. If you can find it on ebay cheaper than a store check it out but I wouldnt pay full price for it.

Transformers The Game (Playstation3)

NOT impressed. This is a typical movie based, multi-platform, button mashing disappointment. It's the same single button, 3 hit combo over and over again. Barely any story, and loose ended missions. The controls are not very tight and the camera is brutal. Physics are another disappointment. Steering in driving mode can be baffling, and the AI is ridiculous. On the plus side there are tons of unlockables, and the destructable environment is superb. Other than that I hate this game. It's sold at full price which makes it all the more detestable.
