THE TREATMENT is the 2nd book in Mo Hayder's Jack Caffery series, and I would highly recommend that, prior to reading The Treatment, you read the Jack Caffery book BIRDMAN first, otherwise you will not have the benefit of Jack's character development and significant events in his life.
Both books are extremely well researched and detailed, tremendously suspenseful and beautifully written.
Although I couldn't put this book down, I was disappointed with the ending of The Treatment, which left a huge "loose end" to one of the story's main plotlines. I'm hoping that perhaps Mo will write another Jack Caffery book in the VERY NEAR future that will clear up the questions that were left unanswered at the end of The Treatment.
