"Visually, it's the kind of thing horror fans dream of, full of throbbing oranges and reds."

"TRICK 'R TREAT appears to be the work of die-hard fans who studied '70s pics like TALES FROM THE CRYPT and THE VAULT OF HORROR with the same enthusiasm with which film-school academics deconstruct CITIZEN KANE."

Trick'r Treat

Created: 13/10/09
This movie was everything I hoped for. In the tradition of horror movie anthologies such as Tales from the Darkside, The House That Dripped Blood, and Creepshow. The director weaves a delightful Halloween tale that intermingles the lives of several of the members of a small mid western town. Each story is separate but equally gruesome. You get so much in this movie, a great ghost story, a werewolf story, a serial killer story, and a story about Sam the interesting character from the front of the movie who becomes an unofficial Halloween mascot. With what has now become a tradition of a new Saw movie every Halloween, it saddens a true horror movie fan that Trick'r Treat went straight to dvd, because I have to believe audiences would have gobbled it up like a box of Good and Plenty. If you want a terrifying movie this isn't it, if you want buckets of gore you wont find it here, if you want a smart, sometimes funny, sometimes creepy, mood heavy tribute to the Halloween season, buy this movie because you will watch every Hallowen from now on.

4 Tales of Terror to entertain the viewer

Created: 04/12/09
The DVD is all about scaring you to death with four tales of horror and terror that will keep you on the edge of your seat.

With the cast of: Anna Paquin (True Blood), Brian Cox (Running with Scissors), Dylan Baker (Spider-Man 2), Leslie Bibb (Iron Man), and Tahmoh Penikett (Battlestar Galactica).

Of the four stories only two of them will actually scare anyone, the other two are somewhat entertaining but are more gore than terror.

It is worth the money to buy this if your into horror movies, if your not then just rent it.

Four Tricks but ONLY two Treats~ you will watch it once

Created: 08/10/09
PLOT: THINK TRILOGY OF TERROR OR TALES FROM THE CRYPT AND YOU HAVE THIS~*this DVD was given limited release and then HELD FOR THREE YEARS AND THEN TO DVD~ THIS SAYS IT ALL~ ?

4 TALES OF TRICKS BUT ONLY TWO ARE TREATS~ A jumble of 4 tales about Halloween on the same Street~ ADD in Trilogy of Terror and you have the plot~ tale one~ and the BEST~ serial killer Principal Mr. Wilkins looks like any other nerd but he has a secret life~( he is a serial killer) and the VERY DISLIKABLE BRAT from the neighborhood rings his bell "DEMANDING" Candy~ of course end of BRAT and while trying to "bury" his problem he encounters a CRABBY/ nosey neighbor and his own kid who will not leave him alone~goes from scary to VERY dark humor. worth the cost of the DVD when he is trying to bury the BRAT and he is not dead~ tale two~ the sexy girls attend a party and try and "fix" up the shy virgin of the group~ tale three~ the local bullies set up the local disabled girl for a mean prank ~ ~ tale four~ and one of the BEST of the four~ grumpy nasty old man (neighbor in tale one) too cheap to pay for Candy~ has his own approach to REVERSE TRICK R TREAT~ WHEN THE KIDS ring his bell he SCARES THE KIDS WHO DROP THEIR CANDY~ HE DRESSES HIS DOG UP with a GREAT costume~ AND IT IS QUITE brilliant~ but a small figure with a PUMPKIN head shows up~ he is an alien~ ~ this makes little sense but we are glued to the feisty old man who nearly holds his own with the alien ~ a great fight scene between the GRUMP and the Pumpkin Alien~ (strangely this reminds me of the Black Demon from Trilogy of Terror in behavior see if you agree with me) ~ the Princpal alone deserved his own movie~ very creepy and funny at the same time~ maybe this is why this never had a MASS RELEASE BUT LIMITED and held three years and then WENT TO DVD~ worth watching ~ once~

Trick 'r Treat (DVD, 2009)

Trick r Treat is not your normal, everyday horror movie. There are four interwoven stories that take place with people living in a small town on Halloween night.
I guess the moral of this story is be careful of everything you say and do on Halloween night, because there are rules to follow, and there might be really bad consequences. There's a strange little character "Sam", who has a sack on his head, and he appears several times throughout the movie. He seems to wander around making sure Halloween rules are obeyed, and also to carry out some of his own Halloween justice.
I think this movie is a "dark humor" horror story. There's some scary things that go on, but there's also some sick, dark, humor thrown in. And, for those of you who like some "gore" in a Horror movie, yes, there's some in this one!!
I don't want to ruin the four stories for you, but each one very different from the others. They each have their own "twist" to the story too.
Buy it, I think you'll enjoy it each Halloween!! :)

Trick R Treat

I bought the title "Trick R Treat" from this vendor. It was an auction on Ebay. I enjoyed the movie considerably when it was released last year. The storyline is great and the format of anthology was very well done. the story concerns overlapping and inter-related characters on Halloween night in a small town in Ohio.
