Game Special Features
  • Street Cop Life – As Marcus Reed players bust criminals, take down murderous gangs, extort, interrogate, search and seize and dispense justice however they choose – either by the book or by indulging in the temptations of the job.
  • Rule New York City – The player will navigate an expertly recreated Manhattan complete with subways, interiors, internationally recognized landmarks, GPS-accurate streets and real neighborhoods from Hell's Kitchen to Times Square.
  • Dynamic Changes – The player's "law enforcement" decisions affect Manhattan’s neighborhoods dynamically: if players let crime go unchecked, the crime rate will soar as the streets fill with trash, potholes and unsavory characters while buildings and foliage deteriorate. Alternately, if players clamp down on crime in a neighborhood, not only will crime rates fall, but visual improvements will indicate their progress as well.
  • Environmental Interactivity – Unprecedented environmental interaction allows players to access almost everything in the environment that will help them defeat enemies including stove top burners, ovens, industrial machinery, locking a suspect in a freezer and using broken chair legs as clubs.
  • High-Speed Shootouts – Gamers can race through the streets of Manhattan in shootouts, pulling off stunts on motorcycles or in a variety of vehicles such as customizable black market vehicles and police-issue cars.
  • Brutal Combat Styles – As a street-smart cop players are able to switch fighting styles– from street fighting to various types of martial arts – on the fly against opponents, opening up an array of moves and strategies designed to take down enemies.
  • Heavy Weaponry – Players can earn an arsenal of high-powered police issue weaponry or obtain black market arms like flamethrowers, grenade launchers and more, in addition to dozens of melee weapons like bats and swords.
  • Support Elements480p Support, Analog Control, Dolby Pro Logic II, Dual Shock, Memory Card, Vibration Function Compatible

Better then GTAs and True Crime LA - By Player 37

    Created: 01/11/07
What i like over all is that (different of GTA series) here we play a cop.
Marcus Reed could be a good or a bad cop if you like.

    Good points are:
-the hero is a genuine NY cop (well, like the movie cops at least)
-You can buy some weapons, cars, maneuvers, and techniques at the Police HQ, or all along the city - in the city you can buy cars, clothes, medicines, weapons, even haircuts.
-Several cars to play and buy, you can take any car (or truck) that you wish to drive, can buy some cars at dealerships.
-You can learn fight techinques at cities Dojos, helpful to fight agaist some enemies.
-There are markets, drugstores, hotels for you restore your life gauge.
-non letal weapons - if you want to bust criminals and gain more points and money.
    -Car races thru the city.
    -Some individual missions/cases to chose.
-Several districts to clean, chose one and start to bust criminals that do several criminal actions, fights, disturbances, locate drugs, arrest gangs, etc.
-The graphcs are good, the city, the persons.
-You have several musics to hear, and can buy songs at music stores.

    Bad points:
-The camera movement isnt good, some times its crazzy.
-Dont expect a Need for speed in the car races (just a minigame to gain some money)
-Some movements of the hero are strange.

This game can entertain you for a long time, if you like to explore and made 100% of game play choices.
Some people don´t like so much True crime, but I liked since LA edition.

Good play, and dont forget to give some time to God (dont forget God, remember him and follow him) - God Bless

a good game for a good bargain

    Created: 09/05/06
despite all the negative reviews given to this game by Grand Theft Auto types - it is still a decent title - the free-roaming, voice acting, music, in-game jokes, realism, and detailed scan of Manhattan make it a decent experience despite a few technical shortcomings - especially at the price it goes at right now on Ebay (less than rental price) - you should definitely consider getting it - for a few hours of fun

Great game! Little too dark for some people

    Created: 03/10/07
and by dark i literally mean dark, this game is set in very dark settings and in the city of new york. Compared to the 1st truecrimes that was set in sunny LA. The graphics have improved but they look kind of rough to me so thats why I cannot give it 5 stars. Although the 1st game did not look real it was very smooth.

This game is fun however the fighting moves are not as great as the 1st game. In the 1st game youre an asian guy who knows martial arts. But in this game you are a black man who simple does simple punches and kicks that he learned from the streets and police.

Same basic gameplay but with extra features! for exmaple if theres domestic problem in a hotel or something you have to find which door it is arrest the victums. there is also bomb defusing!

Another cool addition is you can check the trunks of cars from people like if they are carrying drugs or weapons.

overall a great game! and to close this review I will leave you with a little secret that is also the same for the 1st game. If youre in a car and you zoom in to shoot...if you shoot at the rear lower bumper of another car (if youre chasing someone to arrest them) it will make the car youre chasing explode! FUN STUFF!

The closest game genre as to the Grand Theft Auto Series 6/10

     | No, I would not recommend this product.
    Created: 24/04/11
When I first heard about this game I thought it was going to be another attempt to beat the GTA Series.
But after playing it after a while, it's completely different in most aspects.
You can do most of the things like you can in GTA prior to San Andreas but:
you can go into buildings and interact with restaraunts, clothes, etc.
Be a good cop or a bad cop.
The visuals are crisper which is really a plus visually.
I would have to say I give this a game a 6/10, mostly for visual, controlling is not as simple as GTA, but it still is a fun game for what it's worth.
