    Movie synopsis

High school romance is difficult enough to navigate when both people are human. But for 17-year-old Bella Swan (Kristen Stewart, INTO THE WILD) and Edward Cullen (Robert Pattinson, HARRY POTTER AND THE GOBLET OF FIRE), Edward's life as a vampire complicates things even more. At first, when Bella moves from sunny Phoenix to the rainiest corner of Washington State, she isn't sure where she fits in at her new high school. Then she meets Edward, an ethereal beauty of a boy whose unnatural speed and strength lead Bella to the conclusion that her new crush is one of the undead. Suddenly, Bella's boring life is transformed; she's surrounded by love and danger in equal parts, thanks to the hunger of Edward and others of his kind. TWILIGHT is based on the first book in the addictive series by author Stephenie Meyer. Director Catherine Hardwicke (THIRTEEN) certainly knows her audience, which is primarily the teenage girls who worship the book and its characters. There are plenty of swoonworthy shots of Pattinson's perfectly pale Edward, and his romance with Stewart's nicely acted Bella will cause many a sigh among the devoted fans. While TWILIGHT is primarily a love story in the ROMEO AND JULIET mold, there's also plenty of action and horror to be found. Blood flows (this is a vampire movie, after all), but the small amount of gore shouldn't be too much for the squeamish viewers--and it might even draw a boy or two to the screen. The film's record-breaking box office take alone is proof that the film's appeal isn't limited to screaming teen girls.

Los Angeles Times - Kenneth Turan (11/21/2008)

Entertainment Weekly - Owen Gleiberman (11/28/2008)

"Props to Kristin Stewart, 18, and Robert Pattinson, 22, for playing this uncool-girl-meets-undead-boy with genuine romantic ardor. They're both terrific."

    Good movie, excellent acting

    Created: 04/12/09
Although this is somewhat of a "teen flick", and I'm in my 40's, I really liked this movie. I think the actors did a great job. My daughter said it was not true to the book, but what movie ever is? I found it to be a very entertaining supernatural love story. No severe violence or sex, so is appropriate for tweens, teens and above. There were a few scenes that could have benefited from a bit more of an background, but this is most likely due to time constraints. Overall, I would recommend for any scifi/horror/fantasy/love story fan.

    Twilight the movie

Twilight is an amazing book that is now a magnificent saga! But this movie lacks some of the more magnificent parts of the book. If you have never read the book this movie is captivating but if you have read the book beware there are some issues. The polt is the same of cource but some major events have been slightly altered to accomidate the theatrical elements. However, when you watch this movie disregard the book and enjoy the movie for its many accomplishments. (Like creating a beautiful fight scene with James Bella and Edward.) The actors in this movie are fantastic while portraying the beloved characters of the twilight novels. You will definatlly enjoy this movie!

i love this movie. it keeps you entertained the whole time. It truly is this era's titanic. The love story between Bella and Edward is so facisnating and exciting. You just feel you are in the movie with them the whole time. One should wish they ever had a romantic love story in high school like that. Definitely worth buying the DVD and watching it over and over.

Just The Right Kind Of Vampire Film.

    Created: 11/04/09
The somewhat moody and brooding young vampire really steals the show. Not too much violence or heartache, just a good romantic story.

In the style of James Dean, this guy really steals the show. The poor, young and innocent character female hasn't got a chance. She's definitely candidate to get bitten.

Not as much action as I would have wanted and very slow in many points.

This movie was definitely written and directed for young adults and females.

I don't think I would need to watch this again unless I wanted to watch it again with and for a friend. I will try and see the sequels.
