uDraw Studio (Game & uDraw GameTablet) (Wii, 2011)

I bought this product for a gift for a nine year old child.
Positives: Tablet itself is easy to set up and easy to use. The game is also very easy to use and fun. The game can interest a nine year old or someone older though I suspect it is aimed more towards the younger crowd. Also has some cool features, such as the ability to change where you complete your masterpeices (An artist's studio, sidewalk, a park) and also the ability to "play" your drawing where the program shows how you drew your picture. You can also share your pictures or print them out. There are several options for media (Crayons, oil paint, chalk) and Colors, you can choose a basic color or adjust to your liking. The most surprising feature of this technology is that it is pressure sensitive, the tablet lets you color only by pressing down on the pad with the pen and can also change size of the stroke or opacity. The tablet is also pretty amazing with how accurately it picks up the pen's location on its surface. Negatives: There are not many different things to do. You have the option to "paint" which is just freeform drawing or to color coloring pages. There may be too many options for the younger crowd and without help they may get frustrated with the different choices they have for media, color, and line options. I had slight trouble getting used to the different options and kept thinking I had to pick up my pen like a mouse so that I wouldn't run out of room, but the pen does not need to be in contact with the tablet to move the cursor, consequently I kept feeling like I was going to run out of room on the tablet. I had a lot of fun when I was playing with this product and would 100 percent recommend it to anybody who likes to doodle. It's probably not for serious artists but is good for passing time. I can't wait to try different games using this tablet

It is a fun extra to have on the Wii system. Not for the professional by a long shot, but fun enough for the rest of us. You can color pages from a coloring book, do free hand draw, paint, pencil, and a number of other things. The stylus you can change from a light thin line, to a very thick line, and either add you colors in that remark, or use the blotter, where it adds the color in one shot.
The few games that are out for it, is family oriented, and fun to play. Considering you are able to draw your own figures or solve puzzles on the screen, instead of just letting the game itself do everything.
I am a lefty, and I am one who writes/draws with the paper at a severe angle (the paper is almost upside down when I write/draw) so my only issue with the Udraw product is I have to keep the tablet at a more "normal" angle.
I don't have any complaints about the Udraw Tablet, being that I did do research on it and went into buying it for the simple reason it was going to be more fun and simple, then complex and profeesional, like the tablets similar are for the computer systems.

It is very fun must have if your kids like art. Just make sure they are older because it is very hard to figure out at first, would not be very good for kids under 5.

kids love the ability to draw and play drawing games, parent's love the fact you can save everything they do on a SD card and put it on your Laptop or desktop or external hard drive for safe keeping and not have a pile of paper's around. Wonderful product.

only con is they need to make more games for the system not to many out yet for it.

Wii Udraw is a very fun game for the whole family. My 4 year old son is just as good at it as my husband. We have a disabled child who we bought it for and she loves it as well. It's great for the no mess art and the fun coloring book games kids love.
