Movie synopsis
Funnyman "Weird" Al Yankovic stars in this comedy as George Newman, a man who takes over a low-rent TV station won by his uncle in a poker game. Newman's unconventional methods for boosting ratings include giving the station's janitor his own children's program -- with spectacularly successful results. Complications ensue when the unscrupulous head of a rival network tries to drive Newman off the air, but there's still plenty of time out for fantasy music video segments and TV bits which showcase Yankovic's talents as a parodist.

The most dumbest part was the rating, PG-13 why was it rated that? Because of the part when Emo gets his thumb cut off and when the guy throws poodles off the building. If they didn't have those scenes it would have been PG, well that is what Al said in the commentary (on the DVD).

Mostly good clean fun, with a little too much warpedness for comfort. Take out the Wheel of Fish, the guy sawing his fingers off, and it would be a little better. Just like Al's music, mostly leaves you in stitches, but too much of it is warped to be considered family-friendly. Too much kissing up to the crowd rather than trying to make something timeless and classic. Those unchurched guys don't seem to have it in them to make a real masterpiece of any kind. Take Spielberg, he'll never go down as a Frank Capra, because he puts unnecessary cussing and innuendo in his stuff, totally unnecessary, too.
