Petra: Bob Hartman.Liner Note Author: Bob Hartman.Founded by songwriter/guitarist Bob Hartman in the early 1970s, Petra was one of the first groups to garner the "Christian rock" label. Although the band, which played its farewell concert in 2005, went through several lineup changes, and veered from melodic arena-rock to heavy metal at various points in its existence, Hartman and his commitment to engaging faith-based songs remained constant.
