Includes liner notes by LeAnn Rimes. One might assume that this 14-year-old Nashville phenomenon's EARLY YEARS would consist of recordings obtained from her mother's womb, but in fact LeAnn Rimes has been recording professionally since she was 11, when she made a regionally-distributed LP called AFTER ALL. The selections here, a group of "favorite songs" recorded before the release of her blockbuster BLUE (which made her a multi-platinum star at 13), find the singer in fine voice, full of the same self-possession and vocal ability that informs the material on BLUE.The 1930s chestnut "I Want To Be A Cowboy's Sweetheart" re-affirms Rimes' fondness for tradition and showcases her impressive yodeling abilities (let's see Garth try that). Elsewhere she ventures further afield, covering the Beatles ("Yesterday") and Dolly Parton ("I Will Always Love You"). Wherever the song takes Rimes, though, the one constant is the poise and character she brings to her singing. Whether she's updating Bill Monroe's classic "Blue Moon Of Kentucky" or neo-Nashville pop like "River Of Love," the little lady with the big voice proves she can make her presence felt in any context.

I have no regrets whatsoever about making this purchase. Having always been a LeAnn Rimes fan, this is one of her best. Even at a young age she had the voice of a mature singer with power, emotion, even yodeling!!! It's easy to hear why she became a country star!

Unchained Melody: The Early Years by LeAnn Rimes CD

Created: 01/10/10
I am particular to songs I like to listen to and the only song I felt worthy of a voice like Ms Rimes was Unchained Melody, which I haven't heard sung well since the Righteous Bros. The other songs are just plain tipical music company cookie cutter type songs that most likely most people, espescially youger people will like. I just found them to be average at best and not even Ms Rimes angle voice could improve upon them.

Replacing A Lost One

I was so pleased when I found this CD again! I had it before but over the years misplaced it somewhere. Unchained Melody is very dear to my heart & LeAnn's rendition is second only to the Righteous Brother's version! A wonderful array of her early years indeed!

She is TERRIBLE!

Created: 16/08/06
I have seen her in concert only because she toured with a friend of mine and I will be the first to tell you what a horrible person she is! She is rude to her fans, big headed and just an all around jerk to be around. Please DO NOT support her. I saw her make a 5-year-old girl cry because she wouldn't take 2 seconds to sign an autograph. I don't want success for anyone like that and I hope that you don't either!

Early Years hit the spot!

We wanted a good version of the song "Unchained Melody" and she delivered with her special voice. THE ICING ON THE CAKE WERE THE OTHER SONGS.
