Awesome game too.
IGN Review:
Trying to remain as spoiler-free as possible, I'll just say that the story starts off about a year or so after the events of the first game and begins with Nate and a few fellow thieves working on finding Marco Polo's lost treasure fleet. Of course, things aren't quite that simple and the cast winds up going on a much grander adventure, one that takes them half-way around the world.
That's about as far as I want to go with the storyline, though some of the trailers out there actually reveal a little more than that. The important part here though is that this game doesn't just take place on a single island and instead changes locales a handful of times over the course of the adventure. The result is that the pacing feels better and faster, and even though you're technically doing the same sort of shooting, climbing and puzzle solving throughout the game, the different ways the scenes are presented gives Among Thieves a greater sense of gameplay variety than the original.
The great storytelling extends to the character development, which has been turned up a good notch or two. Almost everyone with more than two lines of dialogue has an interesting reason for doing what they're doing (though the main bad guy is just bad), and the way that everyone interacts with one another is realistic and interesting. Almost every character is unpredictable in some way, but not in a forced or unnatural manner.
The story itself twists and turns throughout the course of the game, as you might expect, and for the most part it's a solid tale. Nate and his pals go through a lot, so it does a good job of reeling you in and keeping you hooked until the end.
While I'd say the story is quite good overall, I wouldn't say that it's perfect. Without giving anything away, while most of the story has solid footing in real-world lore and legend, it does start to veer away from this at some point in a way that could have been handled better. Still, it's told very, very well through the use of fantastic cutscenes and acting, and will keep you guessing at what'll happen until the very end.
Thanks!

Great action adventure.
A main function in the game is blasting the bad guys but the overall storyline is not bound up in over the top blood guts and gore repeated on each level which is a welcome relief from many current game titles. The storyline is interesting, graphics are amazing and the way the programmers utilized plays on the physics engine makes for qutie an exceptional experience.
There is one scene in a blasted out old building where the hero and sidekick are being chased by a helicopter. The helicopter starts blasting the remains of the building which starts to tilt from one side to the other while, inside, the hero is fighting off several bad guys. The floor is tilting from side to side, you're trying to get the goons, not be shot by the helicopter outside and make it out safe as the building collapses. Much fun.
For the parents, I would give this one an NC-17 as opposed to the standard teen rating just for the amount of time spent in 'shooting' mode. Yes they have seen worse on TV and the violence is not over the top like some games present, but I wouldn't give this to a younger kid.
The only thing I dislike is being stuck on a linear path through the story. Side missions are fun and allow for a break. Would have been intersting to have some side-plots where the player could upgrade the hero while progressing through the story.
Online play is a carbon copy of hundreds of other shoot 'em up titles, nothing new there. If you've played one you've played them all. Again, the programmers did such an interesting job with this game, I would have loved to have seen a new take with the online environment to acually have players work as a team to meet a goal rather than blast everyone on the other team until the timer expires.
Overall, this is a good game and definitely worth checking out.

Uncharted 2 - Game of the Year
Created: 20/01/10
Uncharted 2 is a nice blend of shooting, platforming, puzzle solving, and cinematic cut-scenes where it can appeal to just about any person who enjoys the current generation of console games. The gameplay is great, the locations and detail are stunning, the story is gripping, and the multi-player mode is a lot of fun.
If there's any detractor to this game, it's the increased obscurity with which they hid the many treasure chests in the campaign. If you are a fan of Drake's Fortune, you know what I'm talking about. They're much more difficult to find in this sequel.
In conclusion, if you own a PS3, you should have this game.

Upon beginning to play Uncharted 2: Among Thieves, I had read and heard so much about this game. After playing and immensely enjoying Uncharted: Drakes Fortune I knew this could only get better. The graphics and real life environments are wonderful and the story is fantastic. Filled with great characters and suspense throughout. I was a little late in buying this game, but that was only because I didn't want to shell out the price of the game. The wait was worth it and I highly recommend anyone who loves great writing in video games to play or either buy this game. I rented and beat the first game, but I had to buy this one as I am getting ready to go back and buy the first game. Interested in the series ? You will be glad to know Uncharted 3: Drakes Deception is due out later this year. Pre-order is already available and I can't wait to play that one. I might not be able to wait so long on that game after playing this game.
