Urban Reign (Sony PlayStation 2, 2005)

this game is amazing, if you love wrestling games, def jam games, or any fighting games you will love this game.this game is a beatem up style game where you are allowed to grapple your opponent and deliverer many real and a few unrealistic wrestling moves such as the "chokeslam, tombstone piledriver, stonecold stunner, ddt, ect" while still allowing you to execute brilliant fighting techniques, reversals, counters, and also weapon combat.

Pros:
this game is difficult enough to make it even more fun! holds can be broken by other enemies

this is a 1-4 player game if you have friends this will be a great experience.

it seems to have unlockable content however i am not fare enough

area specific damage meters as featured on smackdown however with only 3 sections "head, upper body, lower body"

sometimes your opponent will pull a long chain of moves and holds on you as the match draws close to an end..which can be a pro or a con

would like to have a create a character function but thats not really a con either its just a personal preference

Urban Reign, another under-appreciated game forgotten from the PS2 universe... is nothing short of brutal moves and rib-busting punches that will truly flip you upside down --while you are still on your seat.
While the story mode is just 100 missions of beat-'em-up frenzy, it's nothing that you can just ignore. Even in "Normal" difficulty mode, this game will royally screw you over.
Though the difficulty may get rage-inducing, it is a game that really tests your skills with patience, reaction, and tactics. Who knew you can develop such skills in this simple brawler?
The multi-player mode however, is where the game really shines. You can have a simple 1-on-1, or a full-blown three or four player battle royale with computers. Of course, if you have a friend, you can go 2-on-2 against the opposing computer team. Should you have a PS2 Multitap and four controllers, you and three friends can duke it out for hours on end!
To wrap it up, Urban Reign is a furious and powerful beat-'em-up game which requires total control, only to be degraded by it's naturally challenging story mode. If you manage to look past all of that, you'll find yourself playing this game for weeks on end!

The Game-Urban Reign for PS2

This game is fun, and action packed! Its not bad concidering multi foe fighting. Its one half double dragon, and one half tekken, Its almost exactly what you would expect that offspring to be like.

This game i do not recommend for everyone, Its a bit daft for gamers that are looking for the next soul caliber/tekken game. It can be frusterating at times. I recommend this game for gamers who dig beatdown games, you can have alot of fun pulling of prowrestling like moves, and unleashing some MMA style ground and pound, ow yes and some very cool martial arts "just like you would expect from a Namco fighter based game".

Its was well worth my $20 and its a great stress releaver+ Party game.

Urban Reign is an awesome fighting game! It plays like a gang fight fought by ECW wrestlers trained by Jackie Chan! The game is beatable...on VERY EASY level...but it had some challenging levels that were frustrating! When you are done with the "STORY" mode you get to fight with a lot of the characters that were just smacking you upside the head with a barbed wire bat! My favorite part of the game is when you can team up with a partner and hand out some serious beatdowns with your choice of about 20 nasty weapons! The double team moves are straight out of WWE and the weapon use is just sick(I LOVE IT!)! Sorry all of you fans of blood...no blood...but the lack of red pixels doesn't make it any less of a game!

If you are a fan of fighting games don't let this great title go unnoticed! You won't be dissapointed!

This is an excellent fighting game. The multiplayer mode is insanely fun. The controls and gameplay are easy and fun for players of all ages. The graphics are awesome. There are some pretty cool cheat codes for this game online too. I would reccomend this game for anyone. Great game from the creators of Tekken. This one may even have Tekken beat.
