Publisher's Note
"Create the bedroom of your dreams" This book focuses on the most personal room in the home. A bedroom should be a unique expression of the occupant, with a sense of welcome, whether for a family member or a guest. Filled with ideas, Victoria Bedrooms requires an investment of time and thought, not a great deal of money. Some of the ideas: --How to personalize a nursery, child's bedroom, guest room, or master suite. --Making the most of fabrics and flowers, including combinations that really work. --Ways to focus on unexpected pleasures that delight the eye, for example, groupings of antique frames, a silver tray, and perfume bottles on a dressing table. --Expressions for a gamut of tastes, from richly dramatic to airily romantic. --Help for out of the-ordinary spaces, for example, transforming a sloping, eaved attic bedroom into a space "surrounded by sky." It's all here: everything a reader could want to know about making a bedroom "a place of one's own."

A popular Victorian period treatment is geared to the most private room in the house, the bedroom, in a guide that offers suggestions on everything from fabrics and flowers to accessories and lighting.

Taking comfort as its key, from luscious linens to pillows that invite you to sink back with a book and a sigh, Victoria Bedrooms opens the door on a world of beautiful bedrooms, from sunny suites to attic hideaways. You'll find ways to make this sanctuary truly your own by building from what you most love - a handmade coverlet, a grandmother's fragrance bottles, your own creative works in progress. Bestowing your personal touch on a bedroom can take many forms. These pages brim with ideas for decorating in many styles - how to dress stately four-posters or rustic twig beds, create original vanities and cozy window seats, use by-the-yard laces and flea-market finds. You'll discover how the bedrooms of the past influence our choices today, and savor the special details that always give pleasure, such as sensuous scents and soothing fabrics.

I have loved "Victoria" magazine since its inception. When I saw the title of this book I had no problem deciding to buy. And true to the Victoria reputation for beautiful photography and lovely vignettes this book did not disappoint!
I look at some of the pictures and want to walk into the pages to rest...
