A nice book giving an overview of various watch making companies but more a coffee table book than a true reference guide. As with anything the estimated values are out of date and it & curious that over 15 pages (mainly photos of models) devoted to Gruen which is no longer operating yet historic Swiss brands like Titoni & Favre Leuba aren't even mentioned.

Fun book. . . but it's not the "go to" reference

The book offers some great photographs of watch collections (some from the author and her husband) and prices of what they've recently gone for in auction. It's organized as a "dictionary" that showcases a couple of dozen makes of famous and unique companies. Though it gives brief descriptions of famous watches and their history it is not a thorough comprehensive look at watches. It makes a great coffee table book and is ideal for watch enthusiasts.
