    Album Notes
Survivor: Jimi Jamison (vocals); Frankie Sullivan (guitar, background vocals); Jim Peterik (keyboards, background vocals); Stephan Ellis (bass); Marc Droubay (drums).Replacing singer Dave Bickler with former Cobra vocalist Jimi Jamison paid off for Survivor, giving them three Top 20 singles from Jamison's debut on 1984's Vital Signs. His high harmonies, added to the group's well-maintained keyboard/guitar style, threw them into the ring with bands like Styx and Foreigner. Both "High on You" and "I Can't Hold Back" are built on congenial rock charm with an AOR dressiness, using the synthesizer to guide Jamison's energetic singing. Along the same lines as Journey's "Open Arms," the delicate but sternly sung ballad "The Search Is Over" gave them a number four single in May of 1985, bettered only by the number two placing of "Burning Heart" from the Rocky IV soundtrack a year later. Outside of the singles, the other songs on Vital Signs keep up with the band's effective formula, a much better effort than 1983's Caught in the Game, which lacked both enthusiasm and rock magnetism. Though a hits package from Survivor would cover most essentials, Vital Signs works best as the band's most spirited studio release. ~ Mike DeGagne

Great album, actually all 10 songs are fantastic, vintage Survivor, this is their best album top to bottom. Had to add this as a fan, had songs that Greatest Hits don't have, and of course there's a lot of crossover songs between the GH and Vital Signs. Can't say enough good things about this album.

    Vital Signs

I have loved this album since it came out, but was unable to buy the CD because I was in Germany at the time and did not know it. I lost the LP version I had, so when I saw this here, i had to buy it. I like this SURVIVOR better the the original. Jimi Jameson has a better and wider range in his voice that really improved SURVIVOR.

If you like clean, clear 80s rock, this is an excellent CD. I think you'll find you'll like it from beginning to end. Crisp music, clear vocals, part of the best of the 80s.

    Survivor Vital signs cd

If your a survivor fan, you really can't go wrong with this CD. Not only are their the songs that got popular on the radio that sound good, but many of the other songs that weren't released are really pretty nice to listen to.
