The set upon initial startup looked very good in SD. Also there was (1) dark pixel. However after 3 days the pixel fixed itself and I cannot find it.
I inserted a movie with the THX calibration instructions and upon following those the TV looks extremely good with a DVD on the component input. Blacks are dark, whites are very bright. Be sure you set your DVD player to progressive scan to get the most from a standard DVD.
I had Direct TV upgrade to HD programming and the picture is stunning to say the least. Use the HDMI input to get the best picture as component is not quite as good.
The stretch function works very good with little distortion.
Overall I would make this purchase again.

I bought this one form walmart onsell for 470. some odd dollars with tax. My first widescreen. So far I love this thing has a great picture and good sound quality I bought it to save room in my bed room because with the RGB hookup it is also my monitor.Use very little energy compared to my old tv and crt monitor. For the money well you can't hardly beat it. Im not going into all this bla bla contrast ratios and bla bla pixels and things because unless you relay understand the meanings and tech lingo well that stuff may as way be agent latin or something. now my piteculer model doesnt have pip or pop(picture in picture)(picture out picture)but i dont really need that anyways.cause im either on my pc or im watching movies. this thing has plenty of hook ups so you can connect just about anything and evry thing you need to have in the home entertainment 2 avis 1 component 2 hdmi rgb and head phone lack ( I use with wireless head phone @ night not to wake the kiddos) has sleep timer presets and is very roomie thin and sleek as i said earlier I LOVE THIS THING.

This TV Rcoks! Display + Price + Quality is Outstanding
Created: 21/02/07
This TV was on sale in my area during Xmas, so I had a buddy of mine that knows a lot about electronics check out the specification of it. His feedback was that based on the price, specifications, and current reviews of the LCD TV it is a definite buy. He also stated that he did not know how the company is making a profit on the TVs based on everything that you get for the low price, and went on to say that Vizio is probably at this price point to get their name out to consumers. After purchasing the TV during Xmas I was stunned by how good the picture looked at home and how much I loved the TV. The display of the TV's qualities at the store was terrible (a non-HDTV DVD). The hook-ups are easy/straight forward, the PIP functions are nice, you can use it at a computer monitor, Vizio's website is user-friend, and I love it!

First of all the price is what drew me to the Vizio L37 37 in. HDTV LCD Television. Even the DirectTV guy said that Vizio was a great set, that they just don't have the name yet but give them time. The same unit at Walmart was $796 new plus I would still need the $100(Walmart price) wall mount. The vendor that I bought from offered the wall mount as part of the package. I also purchased an extended warranty through Square Trade since the TV was a reconditioned unit. All in all, including taxes, shipping cost, I saved $350. The unit has a great picture and really looks good. It has several inputs, I even have it hooked up to my laptop. The only negitive I have is that there is a slight hum from the built in speakers. My wife hasn't said anything about it but I notice those kind of things. Also, I would like to have another HDMI input as only one is supplied.

This TV is excellent for gaming on, if you have a 360 or a ps3 this is a worth while investment, after buying this tv playing on regular tv seems like playing with glasses on when you don't need them. That combined with the vga input makes this tv truly awesome my laptop plugs in easily for watching streaming video, or HD downloads.
The one negative thing I will say is that the TV does not take well to cold environments, get an extended protection plan if you will be storing it below 45 degrees, I live up north and I'm only home 3 days a week, I don't heat the place when I'm not home and the TV does not like to turn on till the place is properly heated up, seems to be taking longer to warm up each time.
