Walt Disney Treasures: Mickey Mouse in Black and White (DVD, 2002, 2-Disc Set, Collectable Tin Case Limited)

A lifetime Disney fan (and in the process of planning a Disney wedding!) I was naturally intrigued when Disney began releasing their "Walt Disney Treasures" line of DVDs. Each cartoon included on this set, that includes Mickey Mouse's famous, original cartoon "Steamboat Willie," is a quaint look into an older style of animation that is shadowed by the amazing quality of contemporary computer animation and even stop-motion animation.

The included commentary is surprisingly informative (and interesting!) and gives valuable insight about the current quality of cartoons upon the release of these original gems as well as rare information about Walt Disney. Not rich in bonus features, but certainly rich in history, this would be a fabulous purchase for ANY Disney or cartoon/animation fan.

Super collection of the first Mickey Mouse cartoons is excellent especially Giantland and Mickey's Gala Premiere. Many fine extras and poster insert is great. Also includes a highly informative 8 page booklet. Cartoon transfers again must be from 35mm. Extremely clear and sharp images, no duds here !

This is a fantastic, must have dvd for every fan, it's fun to see al that first cartoons of mickey in his early stage. If you think it's primitive, you're wrong, because even today they are great to watch. I should say, don't wait a minute and buy it now before it's to late.
