Warcraft3: The Frozen Throne For PC
Created: 20/09/10
I bought this game after reading many great reviews of its Addictingly Fun Competetive Gameplay ( Online ).
I really wasnt convinced it had anything to offer except for a remodel of all of the other Real Time Strategy Games.
Boy Was I Wrong, I havent been this impressed with a game Ive purchased in over 10 years.
The Campaign Mode Was Challenging and I found myself on the edge of my seat on every mission, Not only that the story line was amazing, And that isnt very common in video games, Normally the story is thought up in a matter of days and the voice overs and text is very bland, all you get with most games are generic phrases you would hear in any War Based RTS and the story line would be extremely predictable. But that was NOT the case here. At times the story line was so deep that you felt as if you were really thier, Waiting in anticipation of the main characters next move.
But the best part of all is that you dont just progress through the campaign mode with 1 faction and 1 point of view, The Campaign Mode is actually split up into 4 campaigns for each race and you unlock the next campaign by finishing the first one, and all of the campaigns build the story and lead up to the Last Mission, So you are never left wondering "who the heck are they and what the heck are they doing here?" You know exactly who they are, why they are their and what they are planning. And you are waiting in anticipation to see how the other factions leader will react to what they are doing.
The Campaign Mode (which I didnt even buy the game for) Literately was the best gaming experience of my life. And probably one of the best 2 - 3 week periods of my life. The thrill you feel when you conquer that difficult mission after several tries is one of the best feelings life can offer.
I went from a sceptic to a believer. I just cant believe it took me so long to purchase this game.
On The ( Online ) Play side of things it was also better than expected. So many people play this game online that you can literately log on and be in a game in seconds.
Not only that Blizzard throws in a map editor with the game download so the players themselves can make maps and many industrious individuals have made tons of different maps that are nothing like the game itself but extremely fun to play. With The Map Editor, The Possibilities are really endless. It is so easy to use and so sophisticated that you are really making your own video game inside of a video game. And thats the feel you get when you play some of the custom games these players have created.
Some of the Custom Games That Got Extremely Popular Now Have Online Tournaments and Prizes.
Can you believe that? A Game So Successfull that players can make their own games within the game and those player made games can gain Widespread Renown?
Probably the most popular Player Made Map Is Defense Of The Ancients.
Thousands of people have actually bought the game to play defense of the ancients and were surprised to see that when they logged in that it wasnt JUST Defense Of The Ancients, that their was actually ANOTHER game Inside.
Finally, You Can Make a Ladder Account And Play Against Other Players by "Pressing The Search For Game Button"
You Are Then Matched With A Player Of Equal Skill Calculated By Your Win & Loss Percentage.
Each Win And Loss Is Tracked And You Actually Level Up As you win, Displaying A Level By Your Name & Giving You A Higher Rank On The Games Website

The Warcraft [this is its 3rd sequel] series is one of the best strategy games for any platform. You choose to be either good or bad then will progress on conquering... The most you conquer the better weapons, technology and buildings, you'll get.
This is the best installment of the Warcraft series...
If you ever play Command & Conquer, it is almost the same regarding strategy...
Highly recommended!

If you enjoyed vanilla Warcraft 3 (Reign of Chaos) you will absolutely love The Frozen Throne expansion. It gives you a new campaign, more units, and heroes.
The custom games on battle.net made on Frozen Throne are phenomenal if not alone worth the entire cost of the game.
PROS:
+ new heroes
+ new units
+ new features
+ new campaign
+ Standard military units now have the backpack feature via upgrade which allows them to carry and use items!
+ the best of custom games on battle.net were designed on The Frozen Throne.
+ WORKS FOR BOTH MAC AND PC
CONS:
- The game isn't already installed on your computer!
OTHER THOUGHTS:
Blizzard never lets you down. Well... except for the time Blizzard promised us Starcraft II years ago... =]

Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne (PC Games)

Excellent addicting game. Several members of my family have played warcraft since it first came out years and years ago. Warcraft III is especially fun to play with other people online on battlenet. There is no monthly charge like there is for World of Warcraft. It's great fun. The graphics are incredible. Well done Blizzard, well done!

Warcraft III is probably one of the most solid games ever made. When they came out with TFT, it was ever more solid and stronger. Right now, I play DOTA, but the ladder is still fun. 5 out of 5, blizzard owns strategy games, period.
