Warhawk (Sony Playstation 3, 2007)

This game does not look special at first glance. In fact the first time I saw the game I thought that graphics are weak.But I tried the demo on PLN and I really like the game play. Finally I took a plunge and I got the full version of the game. Now I play this game more then my other PS3 games.

What I like about the game is that 32 people can play at the same time on single server. The fire fight is insane with that many players fighting at the same tie. Honestly I find it hard to turn off PS3.

The game has many (even though i would like to see more) maps and weapons. The range of weapons is vast. There are tanks, jeeps, warhawks, guns, cluster bombs, flamethrowers and much much more.

The game supports PS3 trophies.

The more you play the higher your ranking you get and new skins, logos, uniforms etc. are unlocked and can be used to customize your player and the warhawk.


The game has many modes like standard death match, capture the flag etc. I like the zones mode the most. In this mode one has to capture sections of the map and hold it. The team that holds the most map points is the one that wins the game.

There are tons of players on servers all the time. I never had problems with lag etc. Once or twice I got disconnected from the server but given number of hours I spent playing this game this is nothing really.

Finally, there are additional exceptions packs with additional maps, vehicles and weapons. All 3 three expansion packs are about $15US on PSN. Definitely worth to get it if you like that game.

If you like Battlefield 2 or Timesplitters, then you should also like this game.

This game features big open maps for you to battle on via Land or Air.

You can join the servers, create your own, or even add password protection.

You've got all the essentials like CTF, TDM, DM, mode, etc.

You can play up to 4 players on splitscreen, or up to 32 players online.

This game is a very good beggining to what a good shooter on PS3 could be. I still like Battlefield 2 better. I think the game lacks speed on the land vehicles, and needs a few more options. You do get a grenade though for some nice destruction. The aircrafts are a bit too much for me to figure out at this point. They're easy to fly, but I have trouble locking on missiles. This game does offer rank restriction so that you can play people with a similiar rank as yourself.

You also get a free Bluetooth headset with this game, so you can't beat the price if you don't allready have a wireless headset. This headset works great. Follow the directions included on the yellow sheet, charge it. Then what they forgot to tell you is.. go back into accessories, then audio. You may have to change the in and out device to the Jabra125 if you were using a wired set before. Then while the headset is on, click connect bluetooth headset.

This game does update your stats and rank. Make sure you are playing a ranked game if you would like to participate in such an event. It doesn't show up instantly. They tell you to never quit while the HDD lights are flashing, give the game time after leaving a game or before logging out to save.

Keep in mind though, this game was built for expansion.. Who knows what we will see next in the Playstation Online store to add-on with. Expect many future updates!

But it is fun to play when there is no cheaters!.But seriously I don't think Sony took there time with this game.It has terrible Server Error connections and the game does lag..I hate the Respawning campers and I wish SCEA would ban people that think there better then you when there not because you can tell they win by cheating.I know.If you did this on the Xbox360 you'd get banned period!.So how about it Sony! Charge if you will I don't care as long as cheaters are banned for life from playing this game!.If you camp or respawn at our base's all the time then you are the one who should be called Newbie!!.I know this because I've played this game since August 2007.I'm now a Sargent Major!.The game is still messed up with the ranking & I don't think Sony cares. The new guy is David Steinberg in charge of all updates for the PS3?.What they do now fire Eric Lempel?.But we seriously need a Instant Chat Messenger Client Wake up Sony!

Warhawk, a videogame made exclusively for the PS3, is a massive multiplayer online game.
The graphics and gameplay are great and it seems to be the perfect Ps3 competition for the
Xbox "Halo" series. Despite being a cool multiplayer game with various gameplays, the game
also has some cons, like the lack of single player campaigns. It also doesn’t offer any
background storyline, it doesn’t promise lots of depth or strategy and lack of tutorial modes
, which made me have a bad time trying to learn how to maneuver the controls while playing
with other people on the network. I even got banned from a server for not knowing how to fly
properly the aeroplanes or knowing who to shoot at. But even with these cons, if you're a
multiplayer games lover, you'll get addicted pretty easy to this one because of the adrenaline
produced while entering a battle with other 31 soldiers on the map.

YOU FLY THE JET, OR ON LAND AS A SOLDIER. MULTIPLE WEAPONS FOR BOTH. SUPERIOR GRAPHICS. THIS WILL BE A ALL-TIME HIT IM SURE. IF YOU LIKE BLAZING ANGELS, RAINBOW 6 OR SIMILAR, THIS IS A COMPLETE COMBAT GAME. YOU WONT GET BORED!!!!!!!! drive around in a jeep or a tank and capture a flag- dog fight in the jet, hand to hand with a knife. shoot it out with various guns from hand gun to machine gun to flame thrower to rocker lancher. defend with rocker launchers or anti-aircraft guns.
