Movie synopsis

A stylish thriller that recalls David Fincher's SEVEN, THE WATCHER is set in the urban landscape of modern Chicago. The story follows Los Angeles transplant Joel Campbell (James Spader), an ex-police detective who has relocated to Chicago in order to escape his past. It appears that a dangerous serial killer, David Allen Griffin (Keanu Reeves), has formed a special emotional attachment to Campbell, luring him to Chicago in order to continue their deadly game of cat-and-mouse. Each game commences when Griffin sends Campbell a picture of a young girl, giving Campbell 24 hours to track her down before she's murdered. After three tragic failures, the stakes are upped when Griffin kidnaps Campbell's beautiful psychiatrist, Polly (Marisa Tomei), mimicking an earlier event that drove Campbell to Chicago in the first place.THE WATCHER is a commentary on modern society's effect on people: making them crudely unable to notice the peripheral people in their daily lives. First-time director Joe Charbanic shoots his film like a music video, using elliptical editing, slow motion, and a postindustrial soundtrack that greatly reflects the Chicago music scene. As the tortured detective, Spader possesses an internal fire that gradually builds in intensity as the film progresses.

An Effective Thriller!

Created: 10/02/10
This movie has a great amount of action but also blends in a reality related to the effects police work has on personal life. If you like edge of your seat action with the feeling that your right there in the action-this movie is for you. Its very "down to earth" in its presentation-good acting-good directing and the sound track also compliments the action. I liked it very much.

good movie and worth the money

Created: 25/01/10
never seen this movie. It a good ago and was immediately impressed with the number of features available on this inexpensive phone. It has a 1M-pixel camera, video camera, and speakerphone. The NewPhone's size is perfect for carrying in a pocket and the battery has a pretty good lifespan of roughly 4 hours. My only complaint is that the menu system on the phone makes you click four times before you can find someone in the address book, set an alarm, or perform a additional functions. Other phones I've owned have simpler menus and get you to important features easily. Overall, I'd recommend the phone if you're on a budget.

Great Movie even better on HD-DVD

Created: 02/08/07
HD DVD is encoded in High Definition 1080p format. The movie its sharpness, and eye-popping colors are just stunning. Black levels are inky with excellent grey shadow detail, and contrasts are deep. The movie itself is great and if you are already a fan of the DVD the HD DVD is what you want. One problem with HD is that with the HD/Blu Ray debate some stores are not stocking them until there is a clear winner. Not to worry, the store below has hundreds of HD DVDs broken down by genre:

Deceiving Information

Created: 07/12/10
The seller states that you have to play the movie on a HD DVD player. What the seller doesn't tell you is that the movie will ONLY play on a Tosiba HD DVD player. It WILL NOT play on any other HD DVD player or on a Blue Ray.
