Pat Magaret and Donna Slusser live in a nearby town and have taught their techniques all over the US. The quilts in the book are beautiful and do not look too daunting for an intermediate to take on. Instructions are excellent. I can hardly wait to try one of the patterns.

Watercolor Quilts as seen by a Watercolor Painter
Created: 11/03/07
WOW! As a watercolor painter, this book opened a whole new world for me. I have always enjoyed painting, and always enjoyed quilting. Now I can put the two creative projects together as one. This book focuses on teaching the quilter to see COLOR and DESIGN within the quilted project. Just as you visualize a painting before putting brush to paper, so you see a watercolor quilt project the same exact way. I am totally enamored with the format for quilting and this book made it come alive for me. A GREAT book with many ideas, many patterns, and many promises for more innovative quilts.

Learn to Color

I completely agree with the last reviewer and I would call this the bible for Watercolor quilters. If you have ever seen a watercolor quilt in person the sheer amount of fabric, color, and form will take your breath away. It seems a daunting task when contemplating this type of quilting but if you can find this book I _promise_ you not only can you (and will you) make beautiful watercolor quilts but you will also expand your understanding of color and how it works together, shape and form and how important the patterns in your fabric are in any quilting project, and how to bring color and form together in exciting new ways. Find this book. Go. Go now. ~Aunt_Melvernia~

Excellent Resource

This book has beautiful illustrations showing how to take 2 1/2" squares and build them into amazing quilts. I am a beginner to quilting so I was looking for a book that was written so I can understand how to construct the quilts. The diagrams and explanations are simple and well written. I'm looking forward to using this book as an important resource as I begin this new area of sewing!
