Wondrous Opera by Roger Waters (Pink Floyd)
Created: 02/04/07
I love this music. Roger Waters proves one of my Main Theories: when a talented rock musician turns to Classical (for want of a better term) Music, the results are astounding. I have so much music to listen to in my house and yet I spent a whole week listening to just this. What a way to go. The melodies and drama are outstanding, the orchestration is superb and the opera experience (the recording is so clear you don't even have to use a libretto, which is, of course, included)is top of the line. The recording (SACD done in Japan)is very rich and very alive. Modern Romantic music at its finest. The third disc is a DVD interviewing Roger and watching him make sure that what goes on disc is EXACTLY what he wants. Precious: looking over the shoulder of one of the singers during the recording.
