Stanley Productions, Ocoee, FL; Transcontiental Studios, Orlando, FL.Photographers: Daniel Tremonti; Len Irish.Unknown Contributor Role: Rob Lambert.Undaunted by the prospect of matching the diamond status of Creed's HUMAN CLAY, the band returned to the studio stripped to a three-piece unit. The album's title speaks volumes of the band's amazing rise to glory and trials of dealing with the critical backlash of seeming overnight success. With no immediate plans to replace founding bassist Brian Marshall (associate member Brett Hestla was busy with his own recording sessions), guitarist Mark Tremonti stepped up and aptly handled bass duties on WEATHERED. Arguably Creed's heaviest song to date, "Bullets" opens with thunderous riffs and Tool-inspired arpeggios. Opening with a mystical Indian chant by Bo Taylor, "Who's Got My Back Now" builds progressively with Zeppelinish dramaticism, owing much to Tremonti and vocalist Scott Stapp's winning collaborative prowess. Longtime producer John Kurzweg took his place behind the controls, dialing in a towering "live" drum sound that sets the tone for the album. Shoe-in singles "My Sacrifice" and "Stand Here With Me" resound much in the spirit of HUMAN CLAY's "Higher," with uplifting, major-key dominant melodies that set Creed apart from their aggro- and doom metal peers. WEATHERED closes with the aptly titled "Lullaby," Creed's most vulnerable acoustic ballad yet.

Editorial Reviews
3.5 stars out of 5 - ...This is rock of unusual focus and arrest, a beautifully distressed dance of sustained style and unapologetic emotion...

Best Creed CD!

Created: 18/04/07
This is really an unbelievable album. With every CD they had, Creed just got better and better. This album is really a mixed bag, but everything in the bag tastes GREAT! WEATHERED opens up very hard, with some metal tracks. All sound great and will get you pumped for the rest of the CD. I must say that in the first two songs, Tremonti's bass skills reall shine. As you get to about the fifth track and move along you are in for some radio friendly tunes, but Creed doesn't lose it's hard edge. "One Last Breath" is a perfect example of this. It was a huge hit and at the same time something that would normally only be played on hard rock stations. At track eight you are in for a unique song, "Weathered". One of the harder tracks of the album, it has a creepy feel throughout, which isn't a bad thing. This is a slow starting, but powerful song that really makes you think. Ending the album are two slower songs, the last of which can't even be considered rock.

Overall, this was their best CD, with some of my personal favorite songs. It has a very hard edge to it which I love. But be prepared for some softer tracks. If you want all hard, dark songs, check out their album, HUMAN CLAY. The great song writing and guitar rifts, make this CD a must buy! This album was a real step foward for this band (as if they weren't great enough). With their previous albums Creed always seemed glued to a set style, a melo hard rock band, and for the most part it didn't go anywhere else. In WEATHERED, they have a few songs that fit their style, which was great. But, they also had songs at the other end of the spectrum, with metal and even lulabys. And they showed not only that they could do all forms of rock, but they could do a GOOD job.

The final album from Creed...

Created: 04/03/08
...was just as good as the ones before it. A good way for this group to close, and morph into Alter Bridge. Not a bad song on this cd, and it has some cool liner notes too. Although I am partial to 'Who's Got My Back Now'. I daresay that's my favorite song from Creed. If you have My Own Prison and Human Clay, you MUST get this to complete the trilogy. Long live Creed R.I.P. -jakk

A great addition to the Creed library.

Created: 02/12/07
This CD by Creed is an awesome addition to any music library. The CD contains 11 songs including the hits My Sacrifice, Don't Stop Dancing, and Weathered.

The band has a great combination of hard rocking and ballads. This CD will provide you with hours of listening entertainment. It is great to put on in the car, at a gym to work out to, or even as background music at a party.

Great CD

Created: 23/09/09
After seeing Creed in concert in 2009 in Chicago, I fell back in love with them. I decided to go ahead and actually buy all their CD's instead of download them and felt as if I needed to real thing. This is a wonderful CD and has a hard-core opening song Bullets.
