I couldnt afford an SSD and this VelociRaptor is the only hard drive that compares. Fastest mechanical hard drive on the planet. My computer is noticeably faster than before.
Easy install. Has the IcePak cooling bracket and in a 75f house the hard drive barely goes over 32C. I ran diagnostics when it arrive before installing OS and it passed at 96 percent. Really couldnt even be in better condition.
The Velociraptor has no competition from other sata mechanical drives. Its seek time and random read/writes is amazing. Very quiet even when doing hard work. Very mild chatter which I like since I know it is doing something LOL
Price vs performance vs GB it cant be beat. want to buy a second one to set up in RAID 0.

So I found an amazing deal on three of these... and oh yeah, you know what comes next. Three WD Raptors in RAID 0, basically providing SSD read/write speeds.
Regardless, it still doesn't have that SSD "zippyness", but it provides incredible performance, storage, and value with just a simple RAID configuration on a couple of these.

) Works great as a an additional drive in my HP Z800 Workstation, even though it isn't the exact same model # as the drives that came with the workstation.
Did not purchase item.
