"Lucy Moderatz, a charming but shy token seller, spends her evenings home alone with her cat and her holidays working for the Chicago Transit Authority -- she has neither family nor boyfriend to keep her company. But she does have a secret crush: sexy Peter Callaghan, a regular customer who has never even given her a second glance. One day, Peter is mugged on the subway platform and falls in front of an oncoming train. The courageous Lucy jumps down onto the tracks and pushes him to safety, but the ordeal leaves Peter in a deep coma. Lucy remains at his side in the hospital until his family arrives -- at which point a confused nurse, who misunderstood one of Lucy's comments, informs the Callaghans that Lucy is Peter's fiancee. And Lucy just can't manage to set them straight. But now she's beginning to fall in love with Peter's handsome and kind brother, Jack, and has one big problem: what will happen when Peter wakes up?"

When I first saw this film, I just loved it! Sandra Bullock & Bill Pullman, a perfect pair!

Wow, I've seen this movie at least 20 times and NEVER get tired of it. Sandra Bullock does an outstanding job along with her co-actor in their characters. You just have fun and laugh in watching this movie. Lucy (Bullock) has hopeful thinking about a guy she sees passing her at work daily. He ends up having and accident and she helps then gets mistaken for that guy's fiancee. She doesn't have the heart to disappoint people (who really want their son engaged to a nice girl like Bullock) so she kind of chickens out in telling them the mistake. Lucy ends up really falling for the guy's brother but of course can't tell him because she's susposed to be engaged! This is a great romance comedy and one to see many times over. Great acting and great setting...overall wonderful!

I love Sandra Bullick this is one of my all time favorites. This movie is about a woman who lost all her family and then she meets this guy at a train place where she works and has a crush on him anyways the guy has a accident a goes into a coma and everyone thinks Lucy aka Sandra Bullok is engaed this man in a coma including his family and then Lucy meets Jack Peter's brother he is the one who is in the coma and they fall in love with each other and no one knows until Peter and Lucy get married then she tells everyone at the wedding that she dosent love Peter she loves Jack and at the end Jack and Lucy get married that is why it is called While you were sleeping oh have tissues handy to.

I love everything about this movie; the characters, the plot, the ending, etc. Sandra Bullock is one of my favorite actresses, but all the actors make each character lovable. The nutty family and their weird interaction with each other is great. It is even easy to love the self-absorbed "sleeping" brother. It is a really funny, clean, well done movie. It is one of my stand-bys that I have watched many times. I laugh everytime!

I purchased this DVD to replace my very worn out VHS copy. Sandra Bullock is great in this part and this is one of my all time favorite movies. Classic romantic comedy with a hysterical family thrown in led by Peter Boyle. If you are like me, a sucker for a happy ending, than this is the one to see!
