Great cast, above average storylines and witty dialoge sell this show as one of the best new titles out there. It pairs Neal Cafferty, a white collar criminal, with his nemesis(later turned friend) FBI Agent Peter Burke as a team working to solve crimes out of the Bureau's White Collar division.

Neal was a successful con-man for years often being connected with many high end crimes, but never being convicted. All the while having Burke on his trail. Secretly both respect and admire the other to some extent; a healthy rivalry. In fact it is Burke who finally apprehends Neal and sets up the show.

Neal is serving time for his crimes and is six months short from being released when the love of his life opts to leave him out of the blue. Desperate Neal promptly escapes from his maximum security prison and races to find Kate. Once more Peter is brought in to capture him. Neal arrives to late for Kate, but thinking on his feet makes a deal with Peter by helping solve a clue that has Peter stumped from a case he was working that week before being pulled to find the escapee.

Under the premise that Neal wear a tracking anklet bracelet and follow Peter's protocol He is granted sort of a work-release deal where Neal will assist Peter as a consultant on cases while he conducts his own under the radar Kate search much to Peter's chagrin.

At first the partnership is tested and through the course of the first season the two grow to like each other more, if not exactly trust each other completely. We learn Peter is married to Elizabeth and Neal has a underworld contact himself in friend Mozzie. Mozzie is the comic relief with his conspiracy theories and fear of the government and the "suit" as he calls Peter.
This unlikely trio takes some time to jell, but by midseason they really make the show.

White Collar's strength is in its characters and offbeat stories. Its a nice mixture of mystery, light comedic moments and action set in the New York City area. Admittedly the first six episodes are sort of hit or miss as the show tries to find its way, but definitely if you stick with it you'll come to love the characters and the show. You'll be rooting for Neal to find Kate, for Peter and Neal to keep this going, for Mozzie to continue being Mozzie and more.

It also opens up a Major story arc involving the mystery of a Music Box that has several characters all vying to find it before the others. It really hits its stride once that kicks in and sets up season two fantasticlly. Its a stylish and witty show and worth a look.

White Collar, Too Good for broadcast TV

Created: 10/11/10
Truly clever and catchy show. My reason for contending that it couldn't be broadcast on CBS, ABC, NBC or FOX? Simple, not enough sex, violence or nudity. If that's what you're after, watch broadcast. But if you want a show that is great for the reasons that TV used to be great, then, White Collar is for you.

And another thing, it's not one of those completely serious (and gorey - and very overbearing) crime shows that take itself so seriously.

Me, I can't want for new episodes.

Try it, you'll like it!

This series is a lot of fun. A more unlikely duo of crime fighters is hard to imagine - the by-the-book FBI agent and the I'll-steal-your-book con artist/thief. But when they get together they're the two smartest guys in the room, and they'll find a way to get the job done. Add in the fact that the roles are perfectly cast, and Matt Bomer and Tim DeKay have amazing chemistry as actors, and this is one enjoyable show!

White Collar is a top series

I like the "it takes one to catch one" slant to the series. The acting is top notch and the action scenes are well done. White Collar is a must for any mystery/action fan.

White Collar first season on DVD

I love White Collar because of the characters. Matt Bomer as Neal Caffrey is cute and lovable. Even though he is a criminal, he is a kind person and cares for others. Neal is smart and quick thinking. The relationship between Neal and Peter make for entertainment. Mozzie and his conspiracy theories are funny. I highly recommend watching this series. If you like USA Networks other shows such as Psych and Monk, you will probably like this.
