The first world acquaints you with the game. The next six worlds may be traveled in any order. The final world is a secret. Fun, but hard as nails

    Created: 25/08/10
Whomp 'em is one of those games that fell by the wayside because hey, did you remember reading about it in Nintendo power either? Neither did I.

It's sort of a cool game, you play as a Native American boy who uses a spear, and can upthrust, downthrust(just like Link in Zelda 2) and can get new powers from defeating the boss of each stage. Kinda like Megaman, huh? Well, copying from Link and Megaman isn't necessarily a bad thing.

What really kills the joy in this game is the incredible difficulty level. I don't know what it is, but avoiding the enemies is almost impossible. Even if you try and kill them, they will end you eventually. I'm serious, there's a continuous and never-ending onslaught of enemies coming at you.

Because of this, finishing even just one stage is damn hard. Maybe not as hard as Ghouls and Ghosts, but sometimes it feels that difficult. This game is pretty hard, and the learning curve is very, VERY high. So only sit down and play this if you've got some serious patience.

I give this game an average rating because it's not fun at first because you'll find yourself dying left and right. It'll take days, maybe weeks before you get used to it. By then, you'll probably want to play something else and never pick up Whomp 'em ever again.
