Wiener Dog Art: A Far Side Collection by Gary Larson (1990, Paperback)

This is a typically hilarious and strange offering of comics from Gary Larson and features eight full-color spoofs of famous artwork, including "The Scream" and "The Persistence of Time" involving those strange little animals known as wiener dogs. These comics can appeal to anyone and are a fine addition to anyone's collection. Very highly recommended for anyone that loves to laugh!

When you purchase this book do not be misled by the Title of Weiner Dog Art thinking that is all that will be in here. It is a collection of Far Side comics and in the middle of the book is a section with a few color weiner dog art peices and a story to go with each one. There is one that is impressionism and it tells the story of how someone paid millions of dollars for it but it's valued at $25.

I am not totally sure the Weiner dog section is really for real. They all look like Far Side characters/drawings just in color.

If you like Far Side books to add to your collection then certainly buy this book. If you were looking for a book full of Datson or Weiner dog art then you will be sadly disappointed and you may wish to steer clear of this book.

Gary Larson in his unique style pokes fun at us through the eyes of our short legged friends. Other sections of the book deak with cartoon portrayals of the foibles around us, so even generalists and non dog lovers can get a kick out of Mr. Larson's oddball poignant perspective.

Had another book just like it.needed another to farme the wiener dog art pages..they are great!

Great book.... he does a whole color section of "masterpieces" with Dachshunds... good for any Doxie Lover... or anyone who thinks Larson is hysterical!!
