The Wizard of Oz (DVD, 1999, Special Edition)

What a Timeless Classic! I have seen this movie hundreds of times and so have my children and we never seem to draw tired of the enchanted tale of a girl from Kansas who is caught in a tornado and wisked away to a magical farytale land. The only problem? She and her dog want to go home~and must travel across the land to get to the Wizard who can supposedly take them home.They meet many 'people' along The way, including a Scarcrow who wants a brain, a Tinman who needs a 'heart, and a Lion who needs courage~along with a good witch and a bad witch!
You will love this movie whether you are 3 or 93!

This movie is my all time favorite. It is fun for all ages to watch. It is imaginative, shows caring, helping and bumps in the roads along with some unfriendly charector encounters. The moral of the story is great. "There's no place like home". All 3 of my children (ages 2, 11 & 14) love and enjoy watching this movie together as a family! A FUN MOVIE TO WATCH! We watch it once a year as it is a family tradition for my family now as it was when I was a little girl. This movie will always be "A GREAT CLASSIC".

I own a Special Limited Edition Collectors Box kit of The Wizard of Oz (with very old original posters). Unfortunately the DVD came up missing in this kit. This is the DVD version that completes this Collectors Box kit, so this is why I bought this one.

I also liked this version because of the special Angela Lansbury commentary as well as a lot of extras to include Deleted Scenes, History, Music Jukebox, etc.

The only Con I have about this is that I wish the original Scarecrow Dance would have been incorporated into the movie.

The Collectors Kit compliments a coffee table as a display item very well.

I have seen this Film at least 30 times since the age of 4.It has always been my all time Favorite.The Story of the little girl who runs away to an enchanted land is an instant classic for kids of all ages.It is a fantastic journey through the innocence of childhood & how she finds new friends along the way.Highest Recommendation!!!!!!

Bought this to watch with my 3 little grandsons and to start a new generation on the wonderful journey this movie provides. So many newer movies for children center around futuristic powers and super heroes from comic books, and this lets them see a more imaginative movie from the past. You get comedy,music,adventure and lesson leaning experience from the movie and a great time with the kids! PS Dont forget the popcorn!
