Worms Armageddon, have fun with your worms
Created: 15/08/07
Worms Armageddon is another game featuring the delightfully flammable worms characters. The game follows the suit of those that came before it as a turn-based strategy experience. Your goal is to protect your gaggle of worms against the opponents by using any number of ridiculous weapons (I'm looking at you super banana bomb). Armageddon has come out on several different systems including the PC and the Playstation. Out of all the versions I believe the PC version is superior due to its ability to customize teams with a bit more detail. Having said that, the Dreamcast version of this game comes very close to the PC counterpart and is a worthy experience alone or with friends. The graphics in the game are very animated and fluid, with some minor slowdown sprinkled throughout the experience. The sound quality is good, explosions sound rough, and the worm comments are funny for a time. This is where the PC version is superior because each individual team can speak from a different set of sounds. The DC version has all those same sounds, but applies them all to every team currently battling. So, if you choose the angry scots theme for instance, it will be pretty funny at first. But, once you've heard each and every worm say a few lines over and over in the course of one battle it can become slightly grating. The game also features a single-player mode where you can achieve medals in different strategic battles or skill-testing training. These medals with unlock more items and options to be used in the multiplayer arena. Overall, this is a very fun game. It's nearly ten years old now but is still a fun way to pass the time with friends, provided you don't have a PC to play it on instead.

There is something about killing worms with banana bombs that just never seems to get old. If you have never played a worms game, you are in charge of a team of 4 worms, that must stratigically use silly weapons to eliminate the worms on the other teams. This is so much fun, as the worms talk and the maps are randomly generated. The war gets even better as you bring friends along. There is a alot of depth to the single player to keep you busy for a long time. A must buy.
