Album Notes
One must give credence to the WOW series' claim that it has compiled "31 of the greatest Christian music hits ever," as it does on this collection of Number One hits, as WOW is the clear leader in contemporary Christian music (CCM) collections. True to this statement, the biggest hits by spiritually minded performers are here, including quite a few songs that have crossed over into the upper reaches of the secular pop charts.Like the NOW template it is patterned after, this WOW installment mixes in all styles of music, from the country beckonings of MercyMe to the rap-rock of DC Talk to the post-grunge of Third Day and the soulful gospel of Kirk Franklin's God Property. The songs run the gamut from unabashedly reverential songs like Rich Mullins's "Awesome God" to the less-obvious worship of Jars of Clay's surprise modern-rock hit "Flood," and the entirely secular-yet-innocent love song "Kiss Me" by Sixpence None the Richer. Over the course of its two discs, this WOW compilation presents an exemplary survey of the Christian pop-music landscape.

Wow Thats What I call Christian Music!

Created: 15/11/05
This really cracks me up - Wow! Thats What I Call Christian Music! Its exactly the same concept as Now Thats What I Call Music except that he 'N' has become a 'W' and the tracks aren't pop songs, they are Christian songs. I look at the title and laugh at the unorginalness of the execs who said "This will be great." But alas, it is apparently great as the Wow CDs sell like hotcakes... and if Christian Music is your gig, Wow claims these are the 31 GREATEST Christian Songs ever:

1. Dive - Steven Curtis Chapman
2. Holy - Nichole Nordeman
3. I Can Only Imagine - MercyMe
4. In Christ Alone - Brian Littrell
5. One Of These Days - FFH
6. Big Enough - Chris Rice
7. Lead Me On - Amy Grant
8. Place In The World - Michael W. Smith
9. Gather At The River - Point Of Grace
10. Redeemer - Nicole C. Mullen
11. Testify To Love - Avalon
12. Awesome God - Rich Mullins
13. On My Knees - Jaci Velasquez
14. He's My Son - Mark Schultz
15. Live For You - Rachael Lampa
16. Butterfly Kisses - Bob Carlisle
17. Flood - Jars Of Clay
18. Kiss Me - Sixpence None The Richer
19. If We Are The Body - Casting Crowns
20. Undo Me - Jennifer Knapp
21. Show Me Your Glory - Third Day
22. Jesus Freak - DC Talk
23. Stomp - God's Property
24. He Reigns - Newsboys
25. God Of Wonders - City On A Hill

27. God - Rebecca St. James

WOW #1's CD

Created: 04/09/06
I was searching for the song In Christ Alone by Brian Littrell and it was no longer available in stores. Thanks to eBay, I was able to purchase a 2-CD collection of number one hits that included this song. My whole family has enjoyed listening to all of the songs and have been very happy with the purchase. We love Contemporary Christian Music!

"Best of the Best" Collection--of mostly 90s &00s Hits

Created: 04/12/08
This collection is a retrospective from the vastly popular Wow series. Wow #1s takes a look at very best songs that were rated number 1. The difference between this cd and those wow cd's that have been released since 1996 is that in order to get on this cd, the song must have been rated #1 and it doesn't matter which year it was released. If you, like me, own all of the Wow cd's, think of this cd like a greatest hits package from an artist that you own all of the albums for - it gives you 2 discs for all of the best music.

Wow, Worship with Surround Sound.

Created: 19/06/06
I own every Wow cd from 1998 to 2006, and I listen to at least one of them every day. some group takes all the songs from the year before and picks the top 30, or 19 or however many they think fit top songs of the year, and put them on what they call the Wow CD. I have them on my Ipod and Computer now, and some of them sound so modern, like Toby Mac, that you can play them when your secular friends come over and they won't be offended, although they there are all kind of genere's of music on these CDs, from Rap to Praise Gospel you would here at a contemperary church on Sunday. this and all other Wow Cd's are Highly recommended by me, and I hope you get yours today!

WOW is right!! What a great title to describe the music

Created: 27/02/06
WOW is right! What a great title to describe the music and inspiration this album brings to your life. The album contains all the popular artists and the favorite songs of contemporary Gospel music. I really enjoy all the albums put out by WOW they are a compilation of great music that is great for riding in the car when no one but you and the music are singing to the LORD! Gospel music always lifts my spirit when I'm down so it is a great resource to help you sing and give praise. God is good!
