Album NotesA preemptive CCM strike on the year 2005, this late-2004 collection features a dizzying array of Christian music acts, from the light, uplifting sounds of fan-favorite Steven Curtis Chapman ("All Things New") to the guitar-heavy neo-grunge of Building 429 ("Glory Defined"). The two-disc set boasts more than 30 artists, many just starting their musical careers. (The atmospheric rock group Mute Math, for example, at the time of this compilation, had only released one EP.) Other highlights include former DC Talk member TobyMac cutting loose on the bouncy pop-punk of "Gone" and Stacie Orrico's anthemic "(There's Gotta Be) More to Life," two tracks that, like all of WOW HITS 2005, help to renew faith while providing sonic delights.
