Top 5 period!!
Created: 08/09/09
The American Dream... The Common Man... whatever you call him, Dusty Rhodes has gone down in
History as one of Professional Wrestling's greatest stars of all time. His charisma is unmatched, his
feuds with Ric Flair, Superstar Billy Graham, Terry Funk and others are that of Legend, his in ring
ability has to be seen to be believed and his creativity for the business is of Pro Wrestling is nothing
short of amazing. Dusty's story begins with his childhood, being born into a working class family, his
childhood illness and his interest in Wrestling. We go into how Dusty grew up, his High School days,
playing Pro Football, quitting Football to be a Wrestler and how he got his start in the business. At
this point of the DVD you're already hooked, or at least I was. Now we go into his infamous tag team
with Dick Murdock, the long run they had in several territories, leaving Murdock for a singles career,
going to Florida and setting the Wrestling world on fire, his brutal, legendary feud with Superstar Billy
Graham, his run in the NWA, winning the NWA Championship and his feud with Ric Flair, which many
fans and wrestlers consider one of the greatest of all time.
Now we go into Dusty's feud with Ric, expanding to include the rest of the Four Horsemen, lead by Flair,
and Dusty teaming with the likes of Magnum TA, Nikita Koloff, Road Warriors and others to take on the
rebel Four Horsemen faction. Dusty's story goes into his time in the Booking Office for the NWA, leaving
for the WWF and the infamous Polka Dots!! Going back to WCW and not only being back in the office,
but back in the ring as well. Getting his son, Dustin, a small push in the WWF and a push in WCW and
Dustin dating Terri Runnels behind Dusty's back, which leads to Dustin not talking to his mother or Dusty
for almost 5 years. During this time Dustin is back in the WWF, wrestling as Goldust. Dusty, his wife, and
Dustin talk about the bizarre Goldust character and about Dustin going back to WCW. Now back in WCW
the father and son have no choice but to see eachother, and this part of the DVD is very emotional.
Makes me miss my Dad. Anyway now the two are a team, feuding with Flair and Jeff Jarrett with some really
funny stories about the feud. Now WCW is gone, and WWE has invited Dusty to be part of the Legends reunion
on the RAW Homecoming event, Dusty is now working in the writing department of WWE and everything is well
and good for Dusty and his family. All of this is covered along with how Dusty met his wife, what he really thiks
about NWA, WCW, WWE, the Polka Dots, his peers, Goldust and the business as a whole.
This DVD is one of my top 5, hands down, without a question, beyond a shadow of a doubt and all of those
kind of sayings. The DVD set also includes MANY full matches, promos, interviews, extra stories, vignettes,
interviews and so much more. This DVD set is the ultimate collection of Dusty's greatest moments and his
greatest matches, accompanied by his life story, which is one of the best stories told on WWE DVD.

A Great Biography on One of the Most Famous Stars
Created: 24/09/06
I really enjoy the recent releases the WWE has had which are more than just a collection of matches. The Dusty Rhodes DVD follows the same format as the Jake Roberts DVD, the Bret Hart DVD and the Billy Graham DVD - it is a story of the person behind the character. Dusty will personally narrate this story, telling of his childhood life, his career from start to finish and his fall out with his son. The story isn't as interesting as the ones told by Jake Roberts and Billy Graham, but if you enjoyed those DVDs or the Bret Hart collection, then you will like this one. There are a lot of extras which include interviews and promos Dusty did (he was on the best when it came to the talking aspect of this business) and a ton of matches. Some younger fans who either didn't grow up watching Dusty or have no interest in the older styles of wrestling may not enjoy watching this DVD because a lot of the matches take place about 20-30 years ago. This DVD has a lot, if not all, of Dusty's high profile match ups and his best interviews. If you liked the recent biography collections being released or old school wrestling, then you should enjoy this release as well.

Dusty Rhodes: Son of a Plumber from Austin, Tx.
Created: 03/08/07
When I saw this on Ebay I couldn't wait to buy it. Dusty Rhodes has been
a part of my life since I could remember. I grew up watching Dusty 70's & 80's.
When I opened the box I couldn't believe all the matches, Promos, and still
get the life history too. Wow!!! I set in on a marathon that was set in heaven.
Loved the history of him growing up as son of a plumber from Austin, Tx.
I loved the story with his family and Dustin.
This is a must have DVD collection for all Wrestling fans.
Some Matches:
AWA 3/9/73:
Dusty & Dick Mordoch vs Dick the Brusier & The Crusher
CWF: Dusty vs Terry Funk
CWF LumberJack Match: Dusty vs Harley Race
Madison Sqaure Garden 9/26/77:
Dusty vs "SuperStar" Billy Graham.
The List goes on and on.
Again it is a must have collection!!!

The American Dream...comes true!
Created: 01/05/11
The Bunkhouse Stampede undisputed champion!
Virgil Runnels is rightfully the icon in American pro-wrestling because he was the electricity that helped to make the greatest pro-wrestler of all time...the Nature Boy, Ric Flair!
Without Dusty, Steamboat, and Harley Race, Ric Flair is not who he is today.
Yes, maybe Rhodes as a booker did some less than great things but in this business, all of these greats would agree that the business drove some truly wild behaviors and attitudes.
Just be glad we had Dusty running the scenes and shows because everyone ultimately benefited from his direction.

American Dream: Dusty Rhodes Story 3-Disc Set
Created: 27/10/09
This 3-DVD set (not 2-Disc) was one that was very high on my "most wanted" list. As a kid, I was a big fan of Dusty Rhodes and anyone else doing battle with Ric Flair and the 4-Horsemen. This set was pretty good but, could have been a little better. There was a match or two where the soundtrack was poor (vintage...somewhat understandable). There were also a few matches where Dusty was on the losing end. One would think that this title would only include his winning efforts. It was great seeing several matches from the NWA/WCW days again. Overall, I'd say I'm pretty satisfied and would recommend this set to any "American Dream" fan.
