The Hulkster DVD trifecta rules, brother!
Created: 28/12/09
Long before the DVD releases of the 4-disc "Hulk Hogan: The Ultimate Anthology" or 3-disc "Unreleased Collector's Series", there was this 2-disc DVD set that started it all. This remarkable release contains an outstanding documentary about Terry Bollea, the professional wrestling fan, and how he would eventually become Hulk Hogan, without a doubt the greatest professional wrestler of all time. This extraordinary release follows his amazing 2-plus decade career, starting with his beginnings in wrestling, through the phenomenon known as "Hulkamania" in the 80s, his WCW/NWO days in the 90s, and his return to the WWE in the 21st century. There is also a great selection of wrestling matches featured as part of this release: his Madison Square Garden debut in 1979; Shea Stadium in 1980; his first WWE title victory in 1984; The Big Event at the CNE Center in Toronto, 1986; Wrestlemania III in 1987; Summer Slam '89 tag team match with Brutus 'The Barber' Beefcake; WCW Bash At The Beach '94; WWE Tuesday In Texas '91; Puerto Rican downpour 1985; Saturday Night's Main Event matches and vignettes; Wrestlevision 1985; his 1990 Royal Rumble victory; Survivor Series 1988. His opponents include Ted DiBiase, Mr. Perfect, Big John Studd, Andre The Giant, Iron Shiek, Nikolai Volkoff, Paul Orndorff, Rowdy Roddy Piper, Ric Flair and Undertaker. The "Hulk Still Rules" DVD makes the definitive companion to the "Ultimate Anthology" and "Unreleased Collectors Series" DVDs, bringing forth a very unique story of an American original, the immortal Hulk Hogan.

Good could be better

Before he was the idol of millions, before he was Hulk Hogan, Terry Bollea was a fan with a dream. But even he couldn't imagine where that dream would lead. No one in sports-entertainment has had quite the ride that Hollywood Hulk Hogan has. For the past 18 years, he has been the single most recognizable person in all of the industry. And for the majority of his 25-year career, he has been on the short list of the game's elite, headlining wherever he went and creating a cultural movement called Hulkamania in the process. This is his story

Hulk STILL Rules!!

The DVD itself is great, and really hard to find sometimes. It's the only DVD available (as of right now) that
chronicles the career of Hulk Hogan in a documentary. It's a shame that it's not longer. This was made back
when WWE made hour long DVDs. But unlike other WWE releases of that era this doesn't cover just one part
of a career, it covers his ENTIRE career, and is in depth, but for me it's just too short to cover Hogan's career
and do it with as much coverage you need to do his illustrious career justice. That being said it is still awesome!
The DVD starts with Hogan talking about his years before Wrestling, as a musician in the band, Ruckus. Then
if goes into meeting the Brisco Brothers, Hiro Matsuda asked to train him, Matsuda breaking Hulk's ankle to
test him, hooking up with Freddie Blassy, his FIRST run with Andre the Giant, the argument between he and
Vince McMahon Sr. about doing the Rocky movie, getting fired from the WWWF, going to the AWA, getting a
call from Vince Jr. and coming back to the WWWF, now known as WWF, teaming with Bob Backlund to fight
the Wild Samoans, defeating the Iron Sheik in Madison Square Garden for the WWF Championship, the "birth"
of Hulkamania (even though it happened in the AWA years before but whatever), the road schedual of the WWF,
crossing Territory lines, going to Puerto Rico and having a gun put in his mouth because of the Territory lines,
the FIRST WrestleMania, his thoughts on Roddy Piper, WrestleMania II and his thoughts of King Kong Bundy,
the feud with Paul Orndorf, gaining respect from Andre the Giant from an incedent in the final time the WWF did
an interpomotional event with New Japan Pro Wrestling, his match with Andre at WrestleMania III, the friendship
between Hogan and Macho Man Randy Savage, the marital problems between Savage and Miss Elizabeth that
was blamed on Hogan, Vince wanting Hogan to retire, leaving the WWF for a movie and TV career, going to WCW,
Lex Luger, Randy Savage, Nasty Boys and other WWF stars going to WCW afterward, Hogan introducing Savage
to Gorgeous George (the female not the old man), Savage's relationship with her falling out and again blaming Hogan,
the formation of the nWo, WCWs ratings getting higher, nWo dominating WCW and the world of Wrestling period, the
Monday Night War, Hogan and Bischoff watching WWF and rewriting Nitro depending on what happened on RAW, the
arrival of Vince Russo, WWF buying WCW, WCW wrestlers on WWF Television, Ric Flair becoming co-owner of the
WWF, Vince bringing in the nWo to "kill" the WWF, the whole dorky promo Vince did about the WWF having cancer,
the feud with The Rock, their match at WrestleMania X8 which is maybe the best of Hogan's career, the nWo turning
on Hogan, going back the famous Red & Yellow colors, winning the WWE Undisputed Championship from Triple H,
Hogan's real feelings about Canada, the fans, the WWE, and Hulkamania. Bonus promos and the following matches...
Hogan vs. Ted DiBiase
Hogan vs. Andre
Hogan & Backlund vs. Wild Samoans
Hogan vs. Iron Sheik
Hogan vs. Orndorf
Hogan vs. Andre(WrestleMania III)
Hogan & Beefcake vs. Macho Man & Zeus
Hogan vs. Ortiz & Cotez
Hogan vs. Ric Flair
Hogan & Gene Okerlund vs. George Steele & Mr. Fuji
Hogan vs. Undertaker
Hogan vs. Big John Studd
Hogan vs. Nikolai Volkoff
Hogan vs. Mr. Perfect
Hogan & Andre vs. Big John Studd & King Kong Bundy
Hogan vs. Roddy Piper
Royal Rumble 1990

I have a mentally retarded brother, who loves the WWE; therefore, I buy all the DVDs I can find (that he doesn't already have) for him. This one was no exception, as he simply loves Hulk Hogan
