THE MOST ELECTRICFY WWE WRESTLING DVD. GET FOR DISC 3
Created: 04/01/09
Okay everyone loves the GREAT ONE " The People's Champ" if you get it for anything it is for Disc 3 alone which is priceless with all the Rock Promos & in ring speeches that will go down in history as the best & funniest ever made.
The only thing I don't like about some of these new WWE sets is that they are narrated like an A&E Biography then a match in full. Then some more biography stuff. "The Rock" Dwayne Johnson doesn't even speak in person it is all past stuff. Guess was to busy making movies. Still is an awesome DVD to have an own.
Hit yes for me I would appreciate it.
Thanks,

The Most Electrifying DVD Set?
Created: 30/10/08
If you were looking for a DVD set that had really good flow and highlighted the more memorable things of The Rock's WWF/WWE career (as well as a few of the lesser known but equally important), then this is NOT the set for you. But, if you are looking for a DVD set of some of The Rock's better matches chronologically ordered from earliest to most recent, then this IS the set for you. I was hoping to see a lot of the aforementioned memorable parts of The Rock's career. His incomparable one-liners, his countless insults, and his never-ending charisma. While all of this is on the DVD set, albeit in an extremely limited fashion, tucked away in the 3rd disc's Extras, it was not at all what I was expecting to receive from this release.
What I did see was just a loose linking of one match to another, to another, to another, to another... Very little development or inclusion of storylines to refresh the viewer's memory of that particular feud, time frame, or era. Don't get me wrong, most of the matches included were great. But The Rock was known for more than great matches. His promo-cutting abilities are rarely matched, but we saw little evidence of that in the feature.
For those of you who may have picked up the 'DX New and Improved' DVD set, you'll remember how each segment was linked by clips from various shows, interviews with other superstars, and the like. This was not the case with this set. While there was a voice-over giving information as to how we went from a match with Rocky Maivia to a clip with the Nation of Domination (for example), it didn't seem to have the fluid continuity that the DX DVD set did (and I have taken into consideration that the DX set contains material from about a year back, while The Rock's set contains material from 15 years back).
While I think this is a must-have for any Rock fan, overall I'd give this set a 'B-' grade. Without the inclusion of The Rock's one-liners, promos, and interviews within the feature to accent and amplify the matches, it made for a slightly disappointing viewing. But this is just my opinion.

Finally The Rock has come back...

To DVD! Though The Rock makes no personal contributions to this DVD, the match choice is rare and the storybook way the matches are connected is compelling. 19 matches are included, notable ones including 3 from the Mankind feud, Wrestlemanias XV and XIX matches with Stone Cold and XVIII with Hogan, a classic match vs. HHH from Backlash and a superb Triple Threat with Angle and 'Taker from Vengeance. The extras alone are practically worth the price of the DVD, with many (though not all) of the Rock's classic promos, the best promes ever delivered in professional wrestling. Overall a solid testament to the Greatness of the Great One.

Great DVD but missing the insight of The Rock. If your going to make a dvd about someones career and they arent dead then you should have them be a part of the production in some way. All together still a good 3 disc set with great matches and legendary promos. But if you wernt watching when these things happend you will probably be confused considering you dont get much of a back story as to why he is doing what hes doing. If you love wrestling or The Rock you should get it but casual fans and cynical ones should try to just rent it or wait until WWE releases a new one which Im sure will be coming soon considering his return to the company and upsoming match @ WM28.
